Guest guest
Dorothy, For carnation, typically you can blend one part ylang ylang (I use I personally) and one part clove bud. A touch more ylang than clove... Eva , " Dorothy " <db@e...> wrote: > > Dear listmembers, > > I have another question for you. At what point do the essential oils get added in and how? I think that I remember somehow saying about adding them to an area around the wick but I am not sure if my recollection is even close. > > Thank you in advance for any suggestions that may be made. > > Yours Truly, > Dorothy

Guest guest
Hi Dorothy, Pink carnations are the ones that smell really wonderful ... almost like the scent of Johnson's Baby Powder (or was it Amen's powder? I don't remember which, but its like one of those talcum powders my family used when I was growing up) ... There is a carnation absolute available - but it is quite pricey (about $70 a dram!)! You can make your own Carnation scent blend up from Ylang Ylang, Black Pepper and Clove Eo's for a lot less Happy blending! Also when making EO scented candles (doing a batch of beeswax right now actually), I add the EO to the wax right before pouring the wax into the mold. Just add and stir and pour. Sure the wick can be scented too - why not? *Smile*Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com Dorothy [db] Monday, December 02, 2002 4:32 PM Subject: Carnation Scent & Candles Dear listmembers, I have another question for you. Guest guest
Thanks Eva. Marge from Nature's gift made much the same suggestion with the addition of a little bit of black pepper. The mystical part of it is that she said they had made a blend called " carnation memories " but that is not what they blended to come up with their scent. I guess only the shadow knows!
