Guest guest
Hey all, I asked and was given permission to post the following. WARNING, the contents of this post should not be read on a full or even moderatly full stomach: "To all of you helped me over the past months to research Young Living and the nuts behind it: I thought you might find the following well - interesting ? amusing? pitiful? frightening? I'm not sure which. I finally got some key pieces of documentation which are key in documenting the rumors about the past of "Dr." Don Gary Young and his number one thug Sherman Johnson, M.D., medical director of Young's clinic, the "Young Life Research Clinic Institute of Natural Medicine" in Springville, Utah. Summarizing a two part series from the Salt Lake Tribune (9/19/93 page C1 and 9/20/93 page D3): It reads like a grade B horror movie. In the early 90's Johnson, who was married, had a long time girlfriend as well. Donna Jones was mentally ill, and she believed that she had cancer. She even shaved her head as part of the charade - perhaps Muenchhausen's syndrome. Johnson, a pediatrician, acted as her doctor. She became hooked on narcotics. In the last 6 months of her life, Johnson prescribed in excess of 380,000 mg. of demerol!!! Though he was her only doctor, he never did any tests or work up for cancer. He never even examined her because, he claimed, she was too modest. Later, at his trial, he said that there was no need to test her for cancer because she had told him that the cancer was injected into her body by "a coven of gay doctors and witches."! Eventually Johnson deliberately injected Jones with a fatal overdose of demerol. He held her in his arms as she died, not trying to resuscitate her nor calling for help. He falsified her death certificate. He sang at her funeral. But months later a suspicious nurse came forward. Jones' body was exhumed, and the autopsy confirmed the lethal overdose and the absence of cancer. Johnson admitted his acts and plea bargained, pleading guilty to manslaughter. The presentencing recommendation was 1 to 15 years in the state prison. But the kindly judge merely fined Johnson $12,500 and sentenced him to 90 days in the county jail, permitting him to go home nights and weekends after thirty days! And the state gave him his license back after just 5 years. And now summarizing from the Spokane Spokesman-Review (3/9/83, 6/28/83 and 10/28/86) The newest thing that I learned about Young is that in 1981 his infant daughter died when he delivered the baby underwater in a whirlpool bath at a health club that he then owned. He left her under water for 30 minutes! The coroner said that the child would probably have lived if delivered under more conventional conditions. But the death certificate listed the cause of death as "cardiac arrest" rather than drowning, and Young was not charged. Within two years - 1983 - Young was arrested and pleaded guilty to the unlawful practice of medicine. He had offered to provide prenatal care to an undercover agent and to treat her mother's cancer. He received only probation, a 60 day suspended sentence, and a $250 fine. At that time Young's literature claimed that he was a graduate of "The American Institute of Physioregenerology." But the founder of that institue said that Young attended only a few classes, did about one third of the homework, and left owing $1,800 in tuition. Typical of his falsifying credentials. And of course there was an arrest in 1988 in California for health fraud. (The San Diego Union 3/8/88 page B-3, 3/11/88 page B5, and 6/18/88 page B-7). In that case Young's clinic was shut down for the unlicensed practice of medicine (at that time Young was calling himself an M.D.) He was also selling unapproved medical devices and unapproved new drugs, manufacturing medical devices and drugs without a license, and advertising drugs and devices to cure cancer. So these are the great healers preying on the seriously ill and desperate, vulnerable people who visit The Young Life Research Clinic Institute of Natural Medicine. A place operated by a man who would kill his own infant by stupidity and neglect, and another man who would deliberately kill his long time lover then attempt to cover it up!!! Why should these people suddenly develop either judgement or ethics, and be expected to treat innocent vulnerable people any better than they treat their own children and friends? I'm still wondering if anyone has anything to substantiate the allegations that Young was arrested in the time frame of 1988 (when he left California) to the early 90's when he wound up in Utah. During that time he is alleged to have lived in Sparks, Nevada, Spokane and Seattle, Washington, and Post Falls, Idaho. Or does anyone have his exact birthdate to facilitate searching the court records - he was allegedly born July 1949 but I don't know which day in July. IF after reading this WITH references, they STILL choose to believe in this person and ANYTHING that comes out of his mouth, then they are either stupid or crooks themselves. Cheers! This information IS true and I have a source very close to him and his inner circle who can verify it. MOST of this was already reported in Aromatic Sage a few months ago. While your case was most unfortunate and these things DO happen, it is NOT so With GY. Cheers! Kathleen Petrides The Woobey Queen: Canoodle with a Woobey when even Chocolate can't help. Guest guest
Dear Kathleen, Thank you for bringing the GY information to our attention. It is even nicer that the information has references that, if one has the resources, may be checked for authenticity. I am not saying that the information is correct, nor am I saying it isn’t, as we all know the value of a name. You have shown us research based on a name and no birth date; I question would even the birth date give us the GY associated with EO’s? Let me explain my experience with Names and birth dates as identification of an individual. This goes back fifteen years. Mid-summer, early morning (3 AM) I’m awakened by loud rapping on the bedroom window and voice bellowing out “Sheriff’s department, open the door”. I run through the house, stumbling as I go, still half asleep. I open the door to find a flashlight blaring in my face, a large burly man in a Sheriff’s uniform glaring at me from behind the light. Our conversation went something like: (Sheriff) Do you have a son named Jason?…………..Yes (Sheriff) Jason Bradley?……………….Yes (Sheriff) Birth date XXXXX ? ............ Yes (Sheriff) Do you know where he is? ………………Yes, he spent the night at his friends. (Sheriff) Does he have a girl friend? ……………… Yes (Sheriff) Is her name Jennifer? ……………… Yes (Sheriff) Does she drive a red car? ……………… Yes (Sheriff) Was your son at Jennifer’s birthday party? ……………… Yes (Sheriff) Well, your son stole Jennifer’s car from the party. He then proceeded to race around at high speeds, ran over a guy and killed him. It is important that we find you son. I saw the officers eyes roll upward as I was grabbing the door frame for support before falling to the ground in a faint, he was most unsympathetic! The officer asked where my son had spent the night. I told him, he then went their home, rousing everyone out of bed, searching the house, even though the home owners told him that their son and mine were at another home. By now, Lord knows what this officer is thinking. He goes to the third home, none to politely, and there finds my son sound asleep, but not for long. He is arrested, cuffed and drug off to jail. Now we have three families all in a frenzy and out raged at the treatment we had just gone through, which was NOT pleasant to say the least, officer’s can and ARE extremely rude when on a mission! Moving to the end of this story/ nightmare for those of us that lived it. The officer’s were given a name and date of birth, even the area the person lives in, thus they land on our doorstep as our son had same name, same birth date……. But what they and we didn’t know was that one half mile from us lived another young man with the same name, same date of birth and even the same house number, just a different street name! (in that half mile you cross the boundary of two communities so the boys went to different schools) And Yes… the boys both had girlfriends with the same names and both girls drove same autos. Sounds like science fiction or those cases of identical twins that live with in miles of each other and their lives are the same down to their pets names. While I appreciate the facts that were given in the GY material but I do know that nothing can be taken at face value especially information gathered w/o a birth date and with out at least a social security number for identification, names and birth dates can lead to mistaken identity as our family learned in a most surprising manner! So, in conclusion, I am not saying that the information gathered on GY is NOT true, I am saying that a person has to research very carefully with more than just a name.
