Guest guest
Dear Group, In my continuing quest for information on parasites, I am struck by a number of things, but the strangest things are that: Almost everyone is exposed to parasites and has parasites. (all animals are susceptable to parasites) For untold millenium humans have been aware of parasites and have had to treat themselves for parasites to remain healthy. Even some animals in the wild routinely treat themselves with certain plants to control or kill parsites. Only today do we think it " strange " that someone might have parasites. For thousands of years, " everyone knew " that most everyone had parasites. Prior to the 1930's, most people in the USA, were aware of the dangers of parasites and routinely took things to control parasites. Many people took " spring tonics " to clear out any parasites that may have been aquired over the winter. Many people collected wild plants, to make and keep on hand, the home remedies to treat for parasites. Many commercial over the counter and mail order brands were also available. The dangers of parasites was pretty much common knowledge. Also prior to the 1930's, whenever one went to a doctor with some ailment, part of the treatment was to de-worm the patient. Doctors were very conscious of parasites in humans and treated for them daily in their patients. Study of parasites in animals, other than human, was limited. Most farmers and other commercial animal growers knew about parasites in their stock animals, but they had to rely on whatever they could use to treat. It might be herbal, it might be some homemande chemical preparation. It might be " people " medicine. They used whatever they could find that worked. After about the 1930's all of that reversed. The animal studies became more and more important as time moved on. Treatments were developed. They gradually increased to, where today, it is necessary to the point that, where all serious animal producers could not operate if they were not aware and knowledgeable about parasites in their particular commercial species. Today, veterinery pharmacuticals are big business to control parasites in commercial crops of animals. But, the importance on parasites and health in humans became less important and fades with time till the present. Parasites became something that we associated with " foriegn countries " . Much of the study of parasites was relegated to " Tropical Medicine " . Today, almost all doctors in the USA are alsolutely, and completly ignorant of parasites and their effects on human health and have been for mmany years. The incidence of parasite infection in the population of the USA is very widespread and has been getting worse over time. It is much worse today than probably any time in history. Most people have them. Some with quite a bit (older) and some with a few (younger). But as the person ages, if left untreated, their parasite load with grow over time. A large part of what our society sees as health problems are caused by parasites and their destructive effects that they have on the body and it's organs. Most ailments of modern man could be caused by parasites. If left untreated, those parasites attack every part of the human body. If most diseases can be caused by parasites, then why isn't any of the medical authorities aware of the problem? Heavy parasite infection can be easily seen in the skin of people. Why can people go to doctors all of their lives and NOT get diagnosed as to having parasites? The only possible answer is that: It is more commercially beneficial to the health industry of animals to treat for parasites in animals. But, it is more commercially beneficial to the health industry of humans to NOT treat for parasites in humans. Correction: last part should say: The only possible answer is that: It is more commercially beneficial to the health industry of animals to treat for parasites in animals. But, it is more commercially beneficial to the health industry of humans to NOT treat for parasites in humans.
