Guest guest
Yo Sandi, > Morning Butch, > Well it's morning here anyway. Thanks for sharing that bit of > information. Who knew. I love Pavrotti's voice. Welcome you are .. late afternoon here it is. I've been through two Kentucky Menu Dinners from KFC with boiled corn on the side .. we have home delivery. Been a hungry day for some reason. ;-p > Chris just doesn't look like the average tourist in the photo's. Naa .. she fit in well. Got picked up at the airport the first trip by the Turkish President's body guard .. ushered into the VIP Lounge where cops took her passport and accomplished the inprocessing .. even carried her bags to the car and the body guard then drove us back to Ankara. She learned a good bit of Turkish too. I think she has Turkish blood. Then we went to a village and a farmer had a picnic in his fruit orchard with bar-be-qued chicken and lamb chops and fresh baked bread and fresh veggies from his garden, fruits from his orchard and we drank Raki and danced Turkish Folk Dances and played Ottoman instruments .. saz and drums .. and sang Ottoman and Turkish and Turklish (combo) songs till late at night .. all lighted by a bonfire. The owner of an ancient pansiyon, the Monestary Pansiyon, and his family took a liking to her and treated her like one of the family. Their hotel/pansiyon is partially underground .. caves that were once lived in by the Monks who manned the many monestaries around Mustafa Pasa. She learned a good bit of Turkish too. I think she has Turkish blood. Turkish cops liked her so much they arrested her. In Bodrum, I told them she was an American terrorist and they then demanded we come in for tea .. ;-p Really! Lots of good photos with them .. but Turkish cops are NOT what a propaganda movie has made them out to be. A retired Turkish 3-Star Navy Admiral who was once acting Prime Minister of Turkey met us in Istanbul and took us to dinner .. then he escorted us with his chauffered limosene to the train station around 1.5 hours away as I wanted her to ride the Orient Express back to Ankara .. made famous by Agatha Christy .. who used to live and write in Istanbul. She learned a good bit of Turkish too. I think she has Turkish blood. A retired Army General who was the Turkish General Staff Secretary and his family took us out to dinner twice .. she was hauled around Ankara by General's wives and daughters .. they took a liking to her quickly. We traveled to the last home of the Virgin Mary and the Military Police (Jandarma) there also wanted us to come in for tea. Photos again. She learned a good bit of Turkish too. I think she has Turkish blood. The rose growers and distillers showered her with rose petals and rose hydrosol. The General Director of the Rose Growers Association took us to lunch at a famous old restaurant. He gave her Rose Otto, Rose Creme, Rose Shampoo and Rose Hydrosol. The owner of a still and hotel inside the castle walls of Antalya, and his crazy dawg, welcomed her and then took us to fish dinner in a garden restaurant where the outdoor ceiling was nothing but grape vines. The floor was hard packed earth. She learned a good bit of Turkish too. I think she has Turkish blood. My office gopher gal read her fortune .. coffee cup and palm (the little gal is famous for doing this) and it took danged near an hour. My Operations Manager surprised Chris with a typical bit of Turkish hospitality when Chris complemented her ear-rings .. she took them off and forced Chris to take them as a gift. She learned a good bit of Turkish too. I think she has Turkish blood. I could go on and on .. but I'll stop there. Basically, I think they detected that she had Turkish blood .. ;-p > Well I guess she wouldn't. I don't consider her average at all. Right .. she is abnormal .. ;-) > I have told her before I'm just so damn amazed at all that she does. Right .. like a bird jumping from one limb to the other. > Nope in my eyes she is well above average. Right .. she is abnormal .. ;-) > Happy Trails, > Sandi Y'all keep smiling, Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
