I hear you .. and unfortunately, I think we are all gonna know a lot

more about war in the coming months. If the cause is just, its somewhat

like a hemmorhoid operation .. do it now or later .. painful but

necessary.

Yep .. unfortunately, it took a significant emotional experience to make

America take notice of things that had been going on even back in the

last century in other countries .. nothing new about terrorism .. used

to be called anarchy. The Marxist-Lenist Terrorism organization, PKK,

were responsible for the deaths of over 30,000 people in 15 years of

outlaw behavior here in Turkey .. and because they were not being bad

guys in some of the European countries, they were allowed to maintain

facilities there .. similar to the IRA and some other Terrorist groups

who benefited from the " Don't bother me and I'll let you live on our

soil, " policies that were common amongst the Social Democratic

governments of Europe. Now, they have also received a wake up call and

have taken action.

Heck .. knowing more about some things doesn't make one superior in any

thing .. its just a matter of collection of personal experiences.

I hope he is well and I salute you .. :-) When I was about ready to

come to Turkey on my last military assignment afore retiring, I had the

motor burn up in my 150 HP Mariner motor .. it was not guaranteed for

water pump failure but that is what happened. I told the company I

bought it from that the bell that signals pump failure had not gone off

... and that I had been running at night. They wrote Mariner and they

replaced that $8,000 + motor out of good will only. I sent the story of

this outstanding gesture of good will to the Army Times .. :-)

Thankee .. as for information, all you gotta do is live long enough to

collect it .. even a blind hawg finds an acorn now and then ... ;-p As

for being loved .. that's nice for sure but not so important .. long as

one is not hated they are ahead of the game I reckon.

Its not a big deal .. ambassadors are just presidentially appointed

State Department folks and generally nice fellers. The wives of those

we've had here in Turkey were also down to earth nice folks too. I

thank the Great Everywhere Spirit that such functions are not held often

cause I got a lot more things to deal with than getting up so early so I

can eat breakfast at 0830 ... ;-p
