Guest guest
Thank you for the warm welcome. I'm working on a website but I haven't found a designer yet. Any input??? We don't have plants for sale this year. Maybe next year. We have to plant the big field with the new lavender (1,000 plants), drying flow seeds and roses for rose hips and petals. I think when we do sell plants we won't ship them. I can't imagine putting your baby plants in a box and having UPS drop-kick them halfway around the country!! I'll just sell in my immediate area. But I know great sites to buy from: http://www.lavenderfarms.com. This is a guide to all the lavender farms in Sequim Valley area of Washington State. That's where I'll get my plants and one other place called The Blue Heron Herbary and they are : http://www.blueheronherbary.com. Before you order ask how they pack the plants ... if they are not fixed so they can't move they'll arrive a mess .... ask me how I know!! Also you might consider becoming a member of The Seed Savers Exchange. (I'm sure y'all know not to grow lavender from seed; it's not reliable for variety.) It's a neat organization if you're not familiar with it. Jody
Guest guest
Welcome to the list. Sequim lavender and Adirondack fir balsam are the two reasons I got into the business of natural home fragrance! Hope you enjoy your explorations into lavender growing - and keep us posted on how the plants do after the winter. Hi Jody- Well it has a low germ rate but if you have a seed from a reputable source it is true to type! check out www.horizonherbs.com You are going to have a lavender farm in Iowa? Cool! Too cold here in Vermont I think- thats why I want to head back out west- Vermont is great socially but - BRR! And then the summers are muggy- ick!
