Guest guest
Hey Janet, > Hey Butch~ > Well how involved do you think the US will get in Venezuela? About what we're doing now .. sending Mr. Peanut from Plains, GA down to confab with them. And besides the fact that Venezuela is fifth largest oil exporter in the world, I think that's all we should do. Aside from the oil, Venezuela is not all that important on the international scene at present .. and the issues of folks trying to overthrow a president (be they right or wrong) who has very solid support in a purged military machine is not something foreign governments should/can get involved in. > From what I see on CNN it looks like civil war could break out > there by Thursday. Maybe .. but it will be a blood-bath methinks .. then .. the UN might get involved and muck it up a bit. Chavez has successfully purged the anti-Chavez elements from the military .. so actions by the so-called opposition have to be prepared to face bayonets. Chavez has tried to replace strikers with foreigners, mostly Algerians and Lebanese, as well as utilizing the military. Besides being illegal, the results have been sorry and show that the government doesn't have the what for to keep industry afloat if workers wanna strike. Keep in mind that the country is not all that civilized in the first place. Get outside the cities and you'd think you were seeing life as it was 5-6 generations ago in the USA or maybe as it is in some countries in Africa below the Sahara even today. ALL of the South American countries suffer from the same disease, that which was created by and is still fueled by the Catholic mentality forced on them since the Spanish Inquisition. If some folks think this is not a politically correct statement .. I'm not trying to make one. I am trying to tell it like it is and I ask them to study their history. > Just curious what your opinion is on this issue. I think Venezuela is not the only hot spot in that area. The terrorist Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) are raising hell there .. car bombs and pretty much anything else they wish to do .. unopposed. In Guatemala, organized criminals have castrated the police and judicial system .. make a decision contrary to their desires and you die .. as was learned recently by a Supreme Court Judge. Argentina is having big-time political problems .. old ones from back in the Peron days .. and they're likely to turn far more violent in time. In Bolivia, violence and civil unrest .. as well as anti-US sentiments are the order of the day now. In Brazil, criminal groups are in charge now .. they move about freely and nobody is stupid enough to oppose them. There's no fear of civil authorities .. the guys in the black hats have them cowed down. In Peru, though the terrorist days of the The Shining Path are all but over .. the problems aren't and there are signs of resurgence of wide spread guerilla activity throughout the country. Even in Mexico, the druggies are terrorizing the peasants .. shoot outs with indiscriminate killings are becoming more prevalent. In my opinion President Fox is the best thing to come along down there but opposition to change is deep .. deep as the pockets of corrupt politicians. Folks .. sit back and look at the countries of the world that have been controlled by Islam and the Vatican .. look closely. Then be DAMN GLAD you live in the USA .. be DAMN GLAD you don't even live in Europe. > Janet Golden-Hogan Y'all keep smiling, Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
