Guest guest
For those of us who aren't really into doling out a$$ kickings **grinz** ( I usually just refer people to my husband, he seems to be head of that department) I figured I'd post this info for anyone who sews, crochets, or knits. Below is the website information for a project called Ship Support. The members of the group send handmade items (hats & booties) to the men & women of Operation Enduring Freedom stationed " over there " (that's where the letters from the troops come addressed from) . Just thought I'd pass it along ... There is a huge list of ships that the group is sending to, so every item helps. I usually have some dark colored or camo-type project I keep on the side, and just by picking it up when I get bored with whatever else I'm working on I manage to send about 2 items a month. ( two less troops with cold heads or feet I figure!) ~*~ Hawke ~*~ ( chasing her son around the house, hey Chris.. remember when he couldn't walk?) Guest guest
Welcome back Mama Hawke! And thank you for this info! I know there are a lot of folks here who are talented in the area of making clothes, and you are right, every item helps, and the folks who are the recipients of your good will and thoughtfulness appreciate it mucho! Even if we all wish that certain happenings in the world (and the world of politics) were different, and even if opinions vary (whether a person in this instance is pro-military action, anti-military action, or whatever), we still have to support our young men and women who are willing to volunteer and sacrifice in many ways, who go and take care of business when that is what is asked of them *Smile* Chris (list mom, proud wife of a Gulf War Veteran) <http://www.alittleolfactory.com> http://www.alittleolfactory.com moonflowerhawke [moonflowerhawke] Thursday, January 16, 2003 7:11 AM OT: Military Assistance By Non-Military Personnel (non-a** kicking version) For those of us who aren't really into doling out a$$ kickings **grinz** ( I usually just refer people to my husband, he seems to be head of that department) I figured I'd post this info for anyone who sews, crochets, or knits.
