Guest guest
I used to (mostly in the late 1970's) have frequent migraines, and did a few things that really helped me. I know coffee is taboo, but I could never completely give it up - so I started drinking a lot less, instead of drinking it all day (everyone did where I worked) I would only have two or three cups, and never any after about 10 or 11 am. Chocolate - same thing, I cut way back. Also, somewhere I read/heard that Vitamin B was helpful, particularly niacinimide - which is Vitamin B-3. (Seems like it was in Prevention Magazine, years and years ago....) As soon as I'd get the aura or feel one coming on, I'd take a Vitamin B Complex, and that helped immensely. A friend of mine used to go to the ER for B Vitamin injections (plus morphine) when she had a migraine - thankfully mine were never that bad. I feel that is what helped me the most. My mailman told me a year or so ago that he got horrible migraines - I had him buy B Complex, and he hasn't had one since, he takes it every day. For some reason, my gallbladder doesn't like it when I take it every day, so I only take it every two or three days. With mine, aspirin, tylenol, ibuprofin, etc. never helped - laying down with a damp washcloth in a dark room was it. If I get one now (seldom) I put a few drops of lavender eo on the washcloth, and it helps. Just my experience, hopefully it'll help someone!
