Guest guest
Yo Dale, > I know Butch I know. It just hurts. Nothing's ever going to take > that away. I hear you and I agree .. but time will take it away. Our kids and our grandkids won't see things as we do. Just as we don't see it as our grandparents did. > And who are we to cut off a family's right to protect their choice? Depends on what their choice is and whether or not their choice can infringe on the rights of the whole .. and this is not new. Even if we look at the War of Secession closely, we see that the cause was State's Rights .. it was never an issue of slavery. However, the result of the war was elimination of what President Lincoln called, " that particular institution. " If Bureugard had not fired on Fort Sumter, it is highly likely that the political division between the North and the South would have continued for many more years .. it was 30 years old at the time .. and its likely that slavery would have become extinct without a war that killed tens of thousands of Americans. But .. the South was sensitized to many issues and demanded their Constitutional " rights " .. and legal rights they were .. even though they were morally wrong and infringed upon the rights of others. > This discussion could go on and on. Yea .. right you are .. and it shouldn't cause we can not change what change has forced upon America. This has always been the case and I believe that we are better off today than we were 50 years ago .. and better off 50 years ago than we were 100 years ago .. and so on. > And if you were here I'd buy you a few drinks, good food and some ear > plugs. Dale Hawhawhaw .. I'd sho'nuf take you up on that. Its something I miss a lot here .. not the good food and drinks, but the discussion. The ear plugs would not be necessary. I love a good discussion. Just met a young Turkish couple the other night .. real nice, bright kids they are. The young gal is a 26 year old teacher at Middle East Technical University .. a genius methinks. There is no ulterior motive in our friendship .. her husband understands that. She speaks English like an educated American, has a great knowledte of world history and especially American history, and one of the most mature outlooks on international politics and social events of any person I have ever met. I enjoy talking with her and we plan on spending as much time as we can together .. shooting the crap for hours on end. Her husband thinks its great cause he says she talks too much and he would like to watch more football. ;-p Now I'm gonna go answer somebody off line .. on so-called Moroccan Chamomile .. which ain't really Chamomile. ;-) Butch
