Hi Everyone,

I have a request here that I hope will be of

benefit to others on the list or their

friends/family members.

My FMS is acting up again big time. The one

thing that has recently changed in my life was my

Doctor taking me off my Zoloft. We gradually did

it over a 3 week time frame. Within 7 days of

decreasing the dosage my pain erupted and has

steadily gotten worse. It has gotten to the

point that at times I am unable to raise my arms

above my head and am having severe muscle spasms.

I am calling my MD tomorrow to discuss it with

him but (and here is where my request comes in),

I would like to find out what types of diet and

excercise others are on that are helping them.

I know there are some foods that exacerbate the

symptoms but I would like see if there is some

that are common to many instead of the few.

I also know that mild aerboic exercise is good

but that it must be tailored to the individual

but again I would like to see if there is one or

two that help the many.

There are enough people on the list that either

have FMS or know of someone who does that we can

together maybe come up with a better profile than

I have found in all my reading and research.

One other thing, I have a cream that helps my

pain a lot. I would like to know what other

" alternative treatments " really help. It is

suggested that massage, acupuncture and

acupressure are the main ones. Is that true for

the many or the few? Which one more than the

other.

Any help will be appreciated.

Cheryl, I have to reiterate what Dori said about Coral Calcium, MSM, and glucosamine. 4 years ago I could hardly function. Just trying to put my clothes on was so painful I wanted to scream. I was diagnosed with Fibro and given the usual pills, first Vioxx, then Celebrex. As long as I was faithful with the dosage I was able to at least function, but, I retained so much water I had to have my rings cut off my fingers. Sufice it to say, I have been taking MSM, glucosamine, and coral calcium for the last months, and I am feeling like my old self again. I only take the meds if I have an extreamly long and hard day, like 18-20 hours on my feed and cooking and cleaning. Otherwise I do quite well on my "natural" meds. If you go to www.msm-msm.com you can read many testimonals about the wonders of msm and coral calcium. It's really worked for me. Your friend and His, Deonia

Hi Cheryl,

I haven't had time to post much but your note got to me. I have been

a nurse for 27 years and seen so much pain and how it is handled by

the medical field. Have you heard about Coral Calcium? It is

absolutely a phenominal finding of Robert Barefoot. It is 100%

absorbable by our body in 32 to 60 minutes.(if you get the right

kind. It has to be marine grade with NO additives)I've had an ongoing

research about it because of all the copy cats out there. The people

that are on it just rave about how their lives have improved because

of the pain relief.

I noticed you are in Anchorage.......we are in Wasilla. Howdy

neighbor:) I have tons of research information on it if you are ever

in the valley stop by our store and say hi. We are on the Parks

Highway in the Wasilla Shopping Center about mile 45. The store's

name is " All About Herbs " and we are the only one besides Soldotna

that carries the 100% absorbable coral calcium.

We tried it on our 13 yr old lab with severe arthritis and in 24

hours she went from falling over, walking like a drunk to running and

prancing around like a puppy. We wouldn't have believed it if we

hadn't seen it. After 2 months she is now off her " liver eating "

Etogesic and only on MSM, glucosamine and coral calcium.

Well now that I've rambled on I hope that helps some.

Wishing you a " break " in pain......

Hugs,

You can read about our herbal roll on pain reliever and how it's

helped so many people with exactly what you have.

Dori,

Wow another Alaskan! It is good to hear from you.

Unfortunately I have a hyperthyroid problem and

have to avoid extra calcium intake as I produce

too much of it.

I love your the way your store looks. We will

come see you sometime soon. Should I call first

to see if you, yourself would be there so we can

meet or are you there all/most of the time?

Hi, Dori

Your post was really interesting. The part about your lab really

piqued my interest, though - our lab (the most spoiled, rotten animal

in captivity....) has had joint problems since she was a pup. She's

Almost 9, and between her joints and chronic allergies, we have tried

many different things.

In the summer, she has to take Temaril-P for allergies, and in the

winter Rimadyl for her joints. Both are horrible for her, she's been

on some form of steroids for so long that she's at 75 lbs. (Given

the opportunity, this girl would eat until she collapsed under her

own weight...)

All that said, would you mind sharing what dosages you give her? I

sprinkle the Knox Nutra Joint Plus Glucosamine on her food every

morning, but would love to try what you've used on your lab to see if

we could keep her off the Rimadyl with it.

Thanks much,

Jonee
