Guest guest
Very interesting article. I relate to it in a different way. I was a O- mom who had to have the rhogam injection back in 71. Then I became a nurse and in 91, I started taking the Hepatitis vaccine series. I had only taken one--when, before the next one was even due, I switched hosp. By the time everything settled down, it had been 6 months since I had the first--and they wanted me to start the series all over again.. So I did--when we got to number 3, I had actually already had 3--so that would be my 4th--I suggested a titer--that was refused. I took the injection, went home, and my world changed forever. Within a few hours, I had bone crushing paain in my shoulder and elbow--that was on Thursday. By the weekend I could not even feed myself. My hands and arms were partially paralyzed and it proceeded to travel ddown my body. I had the one in a million reaction--Guillian Bere. I was out of work from Nov 13th until tthe middle of April. I was in constant pain due to the fact that the muscles that were not paraalyzed were carrying so much workload that they were in astate of constant spasm---for which they couldn't really give me anything--because then nothing would work. Later, after this, I became 100% shellfish intolerant-- then fish intolerant--and the list of allergies grows. I am terrified of medication because I never what it is going to do to me. I am allergic, seriously so, to so many drugs now that it is difficult for me to recall them all--no way to get them printed on ttose little medalions. Well, I work nights--and my brain is shutting down for now. I ust thought this was an interesting tie-in.
