EO Disinfectant Spray?

Hey, Butch - thanks for the reply! Your reply was what my common

sense was telling me. This is for a person who should know a lot

more about any of this stuff than me, so the interesting part will be

how I go about telling her that this might not really be a good

idea. It's a child-care situation - mom doesn't stay home with the

children, but stuffs them with garlic (ages almost 2 and almost 4)

daily so that they won't get sick. (But they do.)

I have some of your fine oregano - I will suggest a spray with a bit

of that for her to try, the kids might as well smell like pizza

inside AND out, eh? LOL!

Anyway, I will talk with her about all this tomorrow. Need to learn

to listen to my gut better!

Good hearing from you, as always, Butch. Ever a wealth of logical

information, thanks.

Plain old Oregano Hydrosol .. or a number of other Hydrosols would do

the job as a kitchen disinfectant .. but I would not routinely spray

them on a child's hands .. nor would I spray an eo/water/emulsifier

concoction on the child often.

There's always a chance of sensitization with frequent use of any

chemicals .. and two years old is just too young (methinks) to get

squirted regularly with such things. Soap and water will do the same

job but it will require the mama to exert a bit more effort.

I would not use ANY essential oils .. too expensive.

Orange will cut grease in a flash .. won't do much disinfecting though.

A study by Vanderbuilt University 2-3 years ago showed that Oregano was

the most powerful disinfectant of all the oils tested .. for the purpose

of cleaning kitchens .. countertops, etc.
