Now see, if you're Cheap like me, you don't have to worry about that kind of

thing. I color my own hair and have done for 20 years. First it was henna,

then when my grey started accumulating I shifted to reds.

I have had some pretty weird reds, not because I've done anything wrong, but

because the color itself was pretty weird. I've even done maroon a couple of

times, which has mellowed to a beautiful red...

At anyrate, I have to say, for 30 minutes out of my day ever 2 to 3 months

(sometimes 4 if I'm really lazy) it's worth it to me to do it myself. I go to

a professional beauty shop, buy the stuff with no instructions (just a tiny

bottle) (by Loreal because I'm worth it) which costs like 5 bucks, the gloves

and the other stuff (forgotten the name of the white cream stuff), a little

vaseline and voila!

However, it must be said, I wont do my own perms, they stink too much and

although I do a pretty good job myself, I go get my hair cut now. For years I

did it because I was too broke to pay to have it done. Now I just do it

myself to fix someone elses bad job.

which is WAY off the subject, but I'm rambling waiting to piss someone off at

e-bay by putting in a last minute bid...I HATE people like me! ROFLMAO

Cheers!

MM Everyone,

I am always dying my hair, 98% grey at 43. And I love

to keep changing my color, I like to be different. But

my friend, professional, always does it for me. He did

such a great job on my daughter in law's hair and I

said I would like that as well. Well I don't look like

her and my hair is now over processed. I need him to

fix it but he said he won't till my hair mends. Well I

can't walk around with jet black hair and dark red

hightlight that are not evenly throughtout my hair. So

I am hoping that someone has a herbal conditioner

recipe I can apply to my hair and repair the dammage

in 2 weeks. He is going to Salem for Samhain.

Oi Vey, do I understand what you are going through.

I cut off all my waist length hair in March just so I could start over

cause it was getting so bad from YEARS and YEARS of abusing it. I'd go

from black to red to green and purple in less than a month *LOL*

I liked to make a hot oil treatment of Olive Oil and Jojoba with a touch

of Rosemary EO added to it. I'd warm it, put copious quantities of it in

my hair, wrap a towel around it, and then sleep with it in my hair. That

would really perk my hair up! I dunno if that'll help it totally within

2 weeks, but it was a nice treatment back in the days when I had hair

and worth a shot!

Good luck!

Hi-

Because of the weirdness of emails, I haven't gotten your original ?

yet, but did see Chris' reply. Anyway, I did nothing but chemical

processes to hair for a living for seven years, my favorite thing to do

was corrective color - fixing what other people had screwed up - so I

would back up what Chris says. We used to recommend just straight

jojoba gently warmed and left in the hair over night every night. Be

sure that you are using a professional shampoo (not drugstore stuff)

specifically for chemically treated hair. And he SHOULD fix your color

for nothing, since he is the one who screwed it up. But it might be

worth your money - and it will cost you - to find a color specialist in

your area, as corrective color is a HIGHLY specialized area, you really,

really need to know what you are doing in order to fix bad color. If I

can help with any advice, please let me know. I can find the contact #s

for professional orgs that can point you in the right direction in your

area.

Years ago, I read in Jeanne Rose's first book that walnut oil was the best

conditioner for hair, and she was right. Just get some of the stuff from

the health food store. You can use the oil for salad dressings, too, which

is nice :-)

Just heat some gently and apply to hair, cover with plastic bag, sit in the

sun or at least in a warm room for an hour or so. Gently shampoo out.

Repeat as necessary.

If you're not against 'store bought' hair conditioners, I cannot recommend

Infusium 23 Revitalizing Conditioner and Infusium 23 LeaveIn Treatment

enough. I have dry, ethnic hair, and using the conditioner scrunched on the

ends with a good squirt of the LeaveIn on top, using them both as a

leave-in product, with some mousse on top, has made my hair glorious. It's

always soft and silky, with shiny curls, and never frizzy. It's a wonderful

combo. I got them 2 for 1 at the drugstore recently, a great buy

Hi Lynda,

I wish you lived near me in New Orleans. He didn't

charge me he is a friend, so that leaves me with two

problems. I don't pay so I can't complain and he is a

friend and to go somewhere else will insult him. He

does great on my daughter and daughter in law which I

am greatful. Nothing worst then a 18 and 22 year old

with bad hair, and I would be the one to hear about

it. I must say I look good for Halloween. My co-

workers said I certainly look like a witch now. Of

course they are going by TV which all people do and I

am so tired of that. Aren't you. But we have singing

gigs starting again and I can't look like this on

stage so I will start treatments tonight. I love this

e-mail group!

MM Kathleen,

I don't pay it is a friend. I couldn't keep up if I

had to pay I have to dye every 3 week. I have done it

myself but I can't do the highlights. I have never

tired red, I think I am I always wanted red, husband

not to keen on red, old girlfriend crushing the heart

as a teenager. Well at 42 he should be over it ,

right. I'll ask about red.

Go to www.neworleanslegendsgold.com

that is me or course with wigs as Liza but if you go

to the DJ service that is me with light hair. See if

you think I would look ok with red hair and what color

red, if you would.

Lynda,

Someone was just mentioning red hair. I have never

tried red, but I always wanted to. So if you don't

mind I would like your opion if I would look good with

red hair and what color red should I tell him to us.

If you go to www.neworleanslegendsgold.com

I have a wig on for Liza but if you go to the pictures

for King of Kool DJ service that is me with brown

hair. So I trust your opion as a professional if you

don't mind.
