Thanks to everyone who replied with helpful hints and information for my

friend who is suffering from the cinnamon oil sensitization. She is bummed

about the fact, but on the upside, the information she now has will help

protect her and her family and friends in the future. So many people

outside of the study of aromatherapy don't know about the dangers in some

oils (or concentrations). She'll now be on guard against chemical-y air

fresheners, harsh perfumes, etc.

Me? <sigh> I'm suffering from my own chemically-induced problems right now.

The other day, in a spell of bad judgment, I decided to pour some straight

bleach into the bathtub I was scrubbing. I had the window open, the

overhead fan on, and I only scrubbed, leaning over the tub (head in the

fumes) for about two minutes, but WOW, am I suffering.

I immediately sniffed some water up my nose, drank water, tried to clear

the chlorine smell out of my head passages. No luck. Lingered for hours.

Then, just walking in the house, as I breathed in, I felt a sharp jab in my

sinuses. I guess I sniffed in a dust mote or pollen bit or something, and

since my surface cells were already damaged by the chlorine, that

'intruder' took root.

My head congestion is awful. I'm careful about inhaling any EOs to help,

since, unlike having a 'bug' or flu, or something, I mechanically damaged a

lot of surface cells, and the EOs could aggravte them further :(

I'm just drinking lots of fluids, sneezing a lot, sniffing some E. globulus

on a tissue (sparingly) and riding it out. I feel *so* dumb. The bleach

wasn't even necessary, but I'm a bit of a clean freak, and some stains in

the worn porcelain part of the tub were bothering me.

I hereby make a vow to be a bit dirtier but healthier :-)

PS I've lost my sense of smell and taste temporarily, which is a real

bummer.http://member.newsguy.com/~herblady
