Guest guest
Hi everyone! I'm Dale and I am a Cancer...kidding.... I'm Dale and just joined a few minutes ago. I teach natural childbirth, I'm a labor assistant and branching out into being a postpartum doula. Mostly I wanted to learn about herbs and oils for use with my laboring mamas. I really need to teach some coaches/dads how to get intimate with their feet, their foreheads, their hands. For some reason they can't seem to bring themselves to do that during labor or in front of me. Yet, they come to see me to learn about how to be there for their wives. What I've mentioned are all the things doulas and labor assistants do. No reason why dads can't do it too. I am hoping that by giving them a mini-course in massage and aromatherapy it might help get the point across to them. Here's to all of you! You were recommended to me by another person on this list, Erin. I'm all ears for your help and advice!! Have to comment on this one...my husband is not a chicken when I'm in labor. He sits there and does everything I need done while all his friends have shied away from their wives/girlfriends while giving birth. Of course, we have home births so that is a big reason why he is able to--he is more free to be with me when I need him because there's no nurse or doctor wanting to get at me to do who-knows-what. Glad you joined the list, Dale! Now, go get me one of those NY bagels and load it up with all that good NY stuff (locks!) for me--I haven't had one in ages...man, these pregnancy cravings are getting out of control. -- <><Erin, full-time entertainer, teacher, doctor, maid, cook, chauffeur, kisser of boo-boos to my Beautiful Trio & The Sprout appearing Spring 2003.
