Guest guest
Hello All Regarding the infused oils- Olive oil IS the best- dont change to sunflower- it will go rancid more quickly. I have had olive oil infusions last years- really..and I store them in amber glass in a dark closet. I just put up gallons of saint johns wort and calendula as well- great stuff! When making a massage blend for myself or another therapist, I add jojoba to extend the shelf life of the opened container- but they usually dont last long enough to go bad! Also- when you buy your olive oil directly from the grower(like I could in CA) or from your natural foods distributor(Or Chris or Butch)...It is fresher in the first place. Hi Michelle: Thanks for the information -- olive oil definitely seems the way to go, and boy, am I glad I used it! I was getting into a panic, especialy after some folks I respect said sunflower was the way to go, and I thought I might have gallons of short shelflife stuff on my hands. Whew, dodged that bullet. On another list, someone posted this great information about rosemary extract and/or vit. e to use as an antioxidant, and it gives %'s to use: http://www.turbosales.com/essentialoil/Voildesc.html Here is something offtopic about that site I posted, and folks here might be interested in helping: I want to make a note about the turbosales.com site. It has the most comprehensive information and dilution %'s I've come across so far, so I'm going to use that as my base info. Interestingly, when I clicked on the 'homepage' at the bottom of the page, I got sent to essentialoils.net, aka camdengrey.com, folks here in town I've purchased from many times before! Here is a problem with their site, and I'd like to know if anyone else has it. When they recently had their site redesigned, my Netscape Navigator 6.1 wouldn't show any of the webpage on the right side of the page, like the oils names, sizes, prices, etc. I have to go use my antique Intenet Explorer 5.1 to view the site. They say their webmaster is trying to correct the problem, but I think he just gives them a lot of baloney. It's been months now. I think they're losing a lot of business. I surf the web all the time, theirs is practically the only site I have this problem with. Can anybody else tell me if they're having the same problem, and if they are, email vivian. They're nice people, and deserve to have a working site. PS I will be ordering the Vit.E from them, heck, maybe some rosemary extract, too. Somebody warned (or was it a website) to check what the rosemary was processed with, as there could be a 'bad' solvent or something. Does anyone know? Gracias. http://member.newsguy.com/~herblady
