Guest guest
Hi all, I have a friend that has Pseudotumor Celebri or IIH. Basically what it is, is she has extreme pressure on her optic nerve and it is causing her to loose her sight gradually. She is on modern medications to help relieve the amount on cerebral spinal fluid which contributes to the pressure on the nerve. This condition is quite rare and there is no cure. The only hope of saving her vision is to reduce that pressure. She has times when the pain/pressure on the nerve is so great that she can not function. At these times she uses a warm compress on her eyes and tries to relax to help the pain. I would like to purchase an oil burner/diffuser for her and would like to purchase any eo's that might contribute to her relaxation during the times it is at it's worst. She doesn't like lavender so that is out. Is there an eo that can help? Any advise or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. My first thoughts were Clary-sage, Cedarwood, Neroli and maybe Gernaium. Guest guest
Bergamot oil is wonderful for stress and anxiety. Also grounding oils such as Myrrh, or Frankincense, which has been shown to deepen breathing. Rose is wonderfully supportive to women during stress, and Neroli is a great anti-depressant. Any of the citrus oils are anti-depressants as well. Best wishes to your friend, she is lucky to have someone like you who wants to help her. Guest guest
Lynda, Thank you for your input. I think I will try my hand at blending something special for her using some of the oils listed. Then I will be off to buy an oil diffuser/burner. Thank you also for your kind words Margaret >Lynda Sorenson <lynda > > >Re: Need Aromatherapist Suggestions >Wed, 21 Aug 2002 22:01:21 -0700 > >Bergamot oil is wonderful for stress and anxiety.
