Guest guest
I usually know better than to make soap on a 100 degree + day (my soap always seems to do weird stuff on days of temperature extremes), but I just HAD to go make soap today. So, I was making a batch of CP/HP soap and for some odd reason after trace, when I heated the raw soap, instead of it going to gel stage in the pot, it separated and turned into what looked like oily boiling soup with a mass of gloppy chunks in it and froth on top (a very ugly, even scary, sight!). Well, after stirring it and stirring it with no change or success I decided to pull out the hand blender (which I usually don't resort to). After using that for just a minute .. I'm happy to say that I had soap again!!! :-) I just put the cover back on the pot on the warm burner (no additional heat) and I'm going to see if it actually goes to gel stage now or if I'm just going to mold it for future rebatching, but its surely not the scary chemical concoction that it was just a little bit ago - it is indeed soap! Just wanted to share and once again prove .. no soaping disaster need stay a disaster . it can always be fixed! *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com
Guest guest
You are so right! I had the same thing happen to me a couple weeks ago and I want to be an encouragement to you and let you know that it turned out fine! Happy soaping!
