Guest guest
Hi, I am wanting to make a couple of inhalers for myself and am looking for information on where to buy the tubes and cotton inserts. Does anyone have any suppliers for these? Also, does anyone know how long to soak the cotton inserts for? or how to do this period, I received an offer to do some consulting locally with an up and coming aroma and herb business and am wondering how to figure out what to charge. Any ideas, suggestions, comments...etc are highly welcome. TIA, Cheryl SmithAnchorage AK --------------- Join Excite! - http://www.excite.com The most personalized portal on the Web! Guest guest
Cheryl- I a a few days late with email, so forgive me if this has already been answered. But you can make simple inhalers by using 5 or 10 ml bottles with dropper insert, adding coarse sea salts to them, and then adding your EOs. Much, much easier. and easy to refresh if needed. Guest guest
Hi Cheryl, I'm with Lynda on this one! Little " smelling salts " bottle sound quite appealing IMHO! As far as figuring out consulting fees goes . I'd think the easiest way do that would be to call the local " competition " and see what the going rates in your area for those type of services are Good luck! *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com Lynda Sorenson [lynda] Saturday, July 27, 2002 10:10 AM Re: Aroma Inhalers and consulting. Guest guest
Hi, That is the problem - there is no local competition. All the brick n mortar stores have gone out of business up here and the local aromatherapists don't advertise, none of them have websites nor do they do consulting. I don't know what to include in a consulting price. I was thinking about the fee I charge single clients, which includes a blend and a synergy for their specific needs. But this is creating 6 synergistic blends for this company and maybe even more if they decide to broaden their scope. So I am have figured out so far: 1. Set price for entire consultation or 2. Hourly fee plus expenses ohhhhh I am not a business person even though I have a Bachelor of Science in Business Management!!!! All the brick n mortar stores have gone out of business up here and the local aromatherapists don't advertise, none of them have websites nor do they do consulting. Hmmmmm …… well, look at it this way, you will have the market cornered in your neck of the woods if you do it right! > I don't know what to include in a consulting price. But this is creating 6 synergistic blends for this company and maybe even more if they decide to broaden their scope. I hope this helps .. I saw this on one web site for someone who does Aromatherapy consultation in Minnesota ~~~~~~~~~ Aromatherapy Consultation – clinical aromatherapy services are available. Fees: • $25 for a consultation with single essential oil application, and $40.00 for comprehensive, individualized consultation with a blend of essential oils. ~~~~~~~~~~ I’ve also seen folks advertise free initial mini consultations (but they make it mandatory you buy an Aromatherapy blend at a set price) and then charge an agreed rate/length for all future sessions .. something like a $1 per minute for sessions less than a half hour and a slightly reduced rate for longer sessions and purchase of a blend ….. > So I am have figured out so far: 1. Set price for entire consultation or 2. Hourly fee plus expenses > ohhhhh I am not a business person even though I have a Bachelor of Science in Business Management!!!! Guest guest
Cheryl- I hate to do this kind of thing on one list about another, but are you also a member of the ATFE? (Aromatherapy for Everyone?) Go in there, and tell Jeanine that Lynda told you to ask her the question about blending for a company. She went through this whole process, and I think you would get great advice from her on it. She's a very generous person and I am sure she wouldn't mind helping. As far as consultation fees, I am finding that they are somewhat off-putting to people. I do charge a consultation fee for making personal perfumes, and charge for the perfume as well. But no one is banging down my door to consult with me on AT for other reasons. I find that what happpens for me is that clients are in the shop for one thing, and then talk about some problem they are having that I know an AT 'solution' for. Then I talk to them about that solution, and we go from there. But I understand that your situation is different as you want to do 'just' consulting and blending, am I right? Not a shop? HTH- Lynda PS_ Hang on to your plane ticket and hotel reservations, I am all but positive that we have something pretty great going on AT-wise on that same weekend as the Aromatic Un-Conference. Will have the final go-ahead in the next few days. Cheryl wrote: > Hi, That is the problem - there is no local competition.
