It's far too hot to be outside - where is everyone?

Boards have been WAY too quiet today. Sunday

afternoons are the time I take to get all caught up

with emails and lists (I have 70+) (Yikes) and it's

just so quiet. On another note, it is beautiful

outside. Hummingbirds buzzing the porch, windchimes

gently tingling in the breeze. The yard is full of

purple larkspur, red standing cypress and thousands

upon thousands of mexican daisys. Husband is SO glad

I don't let him mow most of the yard! (Yes, we live in

the country - so NOONE can complain!) It's SO lovely!

Earthfinds,

Consider yourself lucky, it was 91 here in south Texas today. Very hot! About

two years ago, we had the AC off and it was up to 110 outside, it was the

first time I ever saw a 1# block of cheese melt flat on the kitchen table.

I've been hiding at the malls, window shopping in A/C!

Its been HOT HOT HOT here in Colorado ... we've been hitting record mid

90's daily beginning last week. LaJunta, CO was the hottest place in the

country yesterday!

And it has been VERY dry here too (thousands of acres of grasslands and

forests are on fire).

Tomorrow we are supposed to get rain and be in the mid 50's for high

temperatures down here but up in the hills they are expecting snow, and

of course I start one of my weekly outdoor markets in Evergreen

tomorrow, which is at 9,000FT so I'll probably be in the snow they are

saying *LOL*).

Well I see we are very blessed here in Wisconsin.

Whe have had rain. Our high temps this week range from low sixty's

to low seventies. The temps at night range from 49 to 56 degrees.

Everything is green. So I will not complain one bit.

My aunt just called from Mytle Beach, S.C. to say it was much

too hot to do anything and yesterday set an all time high record

for this time of year.

Think I'll have a cup of hot tea, (Butch's of course), and then

contemplate my blessings.

A friend who did vend this show this past weekend called this morning to say,

there was about 50 paid participates. They (NAHA) did not do any local

advertising,

just in the journal and on computer lists so there was no obvious walk in

traffic.

This vendor lives in Greensboro, about 1 hour and 45 minutes away and

he said he did not lose big money but also did not pick up any new customers

as he knew most folk there by name before he went.

That is the only update I have received this morning.

LOL Chris, that's what our news said too! That we were the hottest in the

country at 108 degrees. Guess all the news stations want to be first huh?

They said the Mt. Lemon fire has burned 12 thousand acres.

Your fire burned TWO acres in ONE hour! That is terribly fast!

Can't say 'forest fire' for here, ain't no forest. <g> I 've never heard of so

many fires before, when I lived in Calif.
