Guest guest
How about the " irons " that you heated on the kitchen coal stove before using the wooden, padded ironing board? And the " Opera " glass television set? Madeline ---- Friday, May 31, 2002 03:05:36 PM OT/ Humor Does this bring back any memories??? Guest guest
Hey Madeline, > How about the " irons " that you heated on the kitchen coal stove before > using the wooden, padded ironing board? I have a half dozen of different types in storage in Tennessee. I am (was?) a nut about antiques. When I divorced in 1988, I walked out and handed the keys to the house (and other things) to my ex .. and after that, collecting again became less of a thrill to me. But I still took advantage of things when I found them and still collect old goodies now and then. Lots of Ottoman stuff I have now ... much older than the ones I had as the US wasn't even in existence when most of the Ottoman stuff was constructed. > And the " Opera " glass television set? When my grandfather brought home a Television in 1950, I had never seen one .. but it was just as you described. We had one channel and I think maybe 4-5 hours programming then. Western Corral I never missed after school .. and the Texaco Hour with Uncle Miltey (RIP) .. and the News sponsored by Camels and presented by John Cameron Swazey .. :-P > Madeline Good memories they are (the second batch) .. y'all keep smiling .. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
