Guest guest
Hey y'all, Its working now .. my posts just went through. I wrote the List Pappy, Steven, and he saw no problems with the list .. then I tried them again and they went through .. more than 36 hours later .. ??? I told some folks who wrote .. might have been a situation of a case sensitive address .. though that was not the situation before. All I did was change the " A " in aromatherapy to an " a " .. or it could have been my idiotic server .. or a Twilight Zone situation .. ;-p But Steven is a good List Pappy .. he does respond to inquiries and he has NO vested interest in that list .. he doesn't sell a thing and he has carried and maintained that list for many, many years. > Oh that IDMA list just drives me nuts sometimes - everyone thinks they > are rude New Yorkers on there or something *giggle* I'd like to see > folks have such khutspe in person :-p .. so I just don't pay attention > most of the time, including the past few days - I guess I have some > digests to read Told you .. digest ain't the way to go on Idma .. ;-p First, there are not that many posts coming through. We need a crisis or two to get Idma on its way .. like Candles .. ;-p > From the gist of the conversation I'll just say that to get technical > as we all very well know .. pumpkin pie, and strawberry (FO) scented > candles are NOT aromatherapy candles. I personally prefer to not use > FO's for anything after having worked with them for many many years, > and now having worked with the real deal for many years too. Well .. you know my thinking on that natural issue .. but I'm gonna make an exception for candles because I doubt the existence of Aromatherapy Candles in the first place .. I do not believe we can get a damn thing out of the odor of a candle with EOs that we can't get with FOs .. all we get is olfactory appreciation which might go a long way to sooth the mind and spirit. But I can get the same soothing from smelling dried cow manure spread over a freshly plowed field .. or the smell of cordite at dawn .. so why not from punkin' pie or strawberry jam FO Candles? > The target markets for EO and FO product market really are different To a degree .. things that go in or on our bodies are different than the idea of BURNING an essential oil and expecting the spent odor to come from chemicals that retained their integrity .. or therapeutic value if folks wanna use those terms. > and there is room for everyone and their preferences in this world! In the USA there is .. but in many places I've visited in the " world " there ain't .. ;-p We forget that sometime. > I'll just keep pushing my niche and plug of all natural goodies cause > I think they are better for a variety of reasons and I hope to sway > the consumer to also think so - and folks can be into it - or not - > don't worry - be happy :-D I hear you .. but I am not going to push EO candles as being anything special because I don't believe they are. The only thing special about them is what we can say to make them special ... i.e. marketing hype!! > Building up the good things about our products will always bring > better selling karma than pointing out why individual competitors > stink I don't go too much for the karma stuff .. but there is a time when we need to point out sellers (they are not competitors) that stink .. IF .. they are ripping folks off, selling dangerous materials or putting out dangerous information. I have an advantage over some folks in this industry .. I don't gotta do it if I don't wanna. In fact, tucking it in tomorrow wouldn't bother me at all .. it would make my life a lot more pleasant I think. I am not gonna stop telling it like I think it is even though there are some who think my messing with the sacred cows of the cottage-industry of AT is sacriligious. Maybe it is .. but that's tough! > *Smile* > Chris (list mom) > > http://www.alittleolfactory.com Y'all keep smiling, Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
