Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Just looking for opinions here . . . I want to use my new rose hydrosol as the liquid in a batch of soap. It probably won't add a lot of scent on its own, right? I want it to be subtley rosy, but I don't have any rose otto eo, nor will I use (or ever purchase) fragrance oil. Do you think a bit of rosewood would nhelp boost the rose scent without overpowering it? I wouldn't use as much eo to scent as I normally do; any suggestions on that? Maybe half as much? I love the scent of rosewood, but I still want to hydrosol to come through if that is possible. Thanks, Debbie deb http://www.bodyhealthcenter.com Introducing http://www.bhcdecadence.com

It didn't really add a rose scent, but I used another eo blend for scent, and the rose hydrosol seemed to (IMO) mellow it out a bit. The scent of the soap is a little nicer than the scent of the blend... if that makes sense. :-) -- Sandy
Guest guest
Hi Debbie, (All : ), When I've used rose hydrosol (or any hydrosol for that matter) in CP soap I cut the liquid for the lye water in half (you can use hydrosol for the lye water if you want, just reserve half of it) and then I add the other half of the liquid in the form of hydrosol at trace. That seems to retain the scent of the hydrosol better I hope that helps! *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com Debra McDuffee wrote: >Hi Everyone, >Just looking for opinions here . . . >I want to use my new rose hydrosol as the liquid in a batch of soap. I'll be sure and remember it next time. -- Sandy
