OT: Klamath Lake and Crazy PCs

Danged if I know .. I've never been there. I just get a bill for taxes

once a year and a bill from the Marina Association watching our lots.

Not acres .. more like a quarter acre. An undeveloped building lot.

Now, the area has a Marina Association, Club House, Dock and the like.

Whim! ;-) In 1972, I was stationed in Hawaii. One of the lieutenants

worked for me lived in Oregon .. he went on on vacation, bought a lot

there and came back with beautiful photos. So .. I bought one too. The

same year, I bought a lot in Port Malabar, FL .. on the Indian River,

and I have not seen it either.

Was using the Communicator 4 series till a few months ago .. it crashed.

Now I'm using my ol' dinasaur Navigator 3.0.

 

I really dislike Outlook cause its not user friendly to me .. my filing

system is not to my liking with Outlook .. plus I'm afraid of it cause

almost all the virus critters around today seem to hone in on it.

 

My problem (aside from SPAM) is I push my PC beyond the limits .. like I

keep thousands and thousands of emails in files ... got'em from back in

1998 even .. :-(

 

Last night I was doing a Trash File delete and the machine started

working slower than molasses in January .. after around an hour and it

only being 5% done, I decided to go around the corner to the pub and

have a couple of cold ones. Came back in around two hours and it was

around 15% done. So .. I decided I'd likely be under snakes afore the

damn thing got through .. so I broke the cycle. Machine then gave me

one'a them Blue Screens and started telling me which errors had gone

down and such.

 

I rebooted ... and when it came back on it started telling me I had to

reinstall this and that .. so I kept hitting OK, OK, Do It Y'all .. and

the like. Wound up with my beautiful Screen Saver (American Bald Eagle)

missing .. my McAfee unable to pull up and my damn keyboard writing in

Turkish. To top it off, couldn't get back on line cause it kept saying

I was not who I said I was .. and even though I'd had a couple or three

ice cold Efes Beers (the world's best) I knew that I was who I said I

was so that upset me.

 

I messed around and got my keyboard to speaking Suth'ran Redneck again,

and reinstalled my McAfee .. but couldn't find the screen saver yet and

couldn't get back on line regardless of what I did .. so I hit the sack.

 

This morning, had one'a my folks call Superonline to see why I couldn't

get on line .. and they said all was good .. so the problem was in my

coding. But my coding was good too. The short of it was, PC had

spelled ButchBsi in Turkish .. couldn't see it but it was there and in

Turkish, and there's no " ch " .. they use a " c " with a tail on it. Got

that right now but still looking for my Eagle.
