Hi Sandy,

That website that I gave you for the hotprocess group on Smartgroups

is a great resource for instructions...there is a ton of information

in our files on different processes.

What kind of hotsoap are you interested in doing? The easiest is

probably itmhp (in the mold hot process), which is cold process soap,

molded, and then the mold is placed in the oven to gel and dry out a

bit...there are tons of precautions on how to do this, of course, as

you will be putting an untreated wooden mold in the oven. Then there

is crock pot (cphp), double boiler hot process (dbhp), direct heat hot

process (dhhp) and cpop (cold process oven process) which can

sometimes include itmhp, or putting the whole soap pot or roaster in

the oven. Lots to think about! Anyway, I may be able to point you in

the right direction for some instructions, depending on what kind of

methods you want to use. You can email me off list if you like.

All the best! You are becoming an addict, you know! : - )

I would suggest making HP soap in the crock pot. In a wooden mold or kitty

litter pan. Some mold that is easy. Molds, for me, were NOT easy the first 3

times I tried them. AND the soap gets an 'ash' on it, that won't happen if you

put all the soap in one mold. Some folks use those new triangular pringles cans,

some use a rubbermaid, at walmart shoe box, some use those silverware holders.

You know, those long white ones? That's the one I used for my very first batch

of CP soap. It held a lb or 2.

You do not want to make more than 1-2 lbs for your first time in HP crock pot,

which is called HPCP. For me, personally, I would NOT do the oven method on my

first time out. Too many 'ifs' to happen. YMMV

So far I've always used just one mold. I've never tried any of the little

individual soap molds.

Thanks Janine! I had already decided not to use the oven method. I like

my little wooden mold and I wouldn't want anything to happen to it. :-)

and very clean burning......I saw her name

and the message about the soy candles and just decided

to order some and i will soon send her another order.
