<< When I make a CP soap with the very expensive essential oils I used

refined olive oil. I don't want a heavily scented oil like the unrefined

olive pomace that I usually use in the base because it has a strong

scent of its own >>

I joined an olive oil list just to find out more about olive oil. It's a

list of growers, mostly. They say that really there are just two pressings.

There are more than two grades of oil, but that has to do with the % of

different components in the oil, not the fact that it was pressed first. In

other words, " virgin " is a quality grade that has to do with how much of

certain things are in the oil and how it tastes. All first-pressing oil is

not virgin.

Pomace olive oil is solvent-extracted, after the majority of the oil has

been released through just pressing.

I use virgin oil in CP and do not notice any smell from it. My 100%

olive oil soaps, in fact, have a very sweet smell. I make then without any

eo for the very sensitive folks.

Thanks,

Shivani

What grade is this refined oil you use, please, and how has it been

refined?

Not all pomace oil is solvent extracted...I believe the one Chris sells is

water extracted...

I do know that most is, though...
