Guest guest
OK, my first batch of soap continues to evade me! Would you believe I cannot find lye anywhere? It is not in any supermarkets here next to the Draino, nor is it at Sam's Club or CVS. I was thinking of trying Home Depot tomorrow. Any other thoughts? I also couldn't even find a bulk resource for it online. Any help would be most appreciated! Guest guest
Where are you at? Here it is in every store, including Walmart. Red Devil is the brand I can get a hold of. I'd try a hardware store like ACE if you can't find it in the supermarket. Good Luck! -- " Debra McDuffee " <deb Organization: Body Health Center Wed, 24 Apr 2002 18:41:58 -0400 lye? Guest guest
You would think I'm further out in the boonies than you, but I'm actually in land o' malls here in central MA. We actually don't have a Walmart yet, but they are building one. I will definitely check a hardware store first thing tomorrow morning. Thanks! Guest guest
You can get it from snowdriftfarm.com in 2lb containers and they don't have to charge the 17.00-20.00 hazardous material fee. I think you can get it from rainbowmeadow.com who has the " good " e-wax too by the way. Good luck finding it locally. Margaret > >OK, my first batch of soap continues to evade me! Guest guest
Hi Debbie I'm no use to use whatever in finding lye, but when I started, over here in Scotland, I couldn't find it either. Then I discovered it next to the drain stuff, just called plain old caustic soda. But maybe it's different over there. Regards Ann - Scotland
