Guest guest
Hey Rick, Lemme tell you what one feller says about neutralizing stings .. even snake bites. Not saying I buy it but saying I would try it. I'll begin by saying this feller sells the product he pushes so he might be driven my other than a desire to help human critters .. ;-p Y'all know that I'm a strong believer in the power of Oregano EO - and that I've researched and written on it for years. Well ... Dr. Cass Igram used to ask me questions about it .. back when I was his supplier. He has a book called, " The Cure is in the Cupboard: How do use Oregano for Better Health. " Pages 101 and 102 cover Venomous Bites. He says .. paraphrased: 1. Get medical attention. 2. Oregano can save lives from bee stings because it is an antivenom. 3. Oregano appears to neutralize the any venom on contact. 4. Get medical attention. Goes on that direct application of Oregano to the wound can only act as an aid if not a cure and it certainly won't do any harm. > I use to have to rush to a hospital every time I got stung. About 18 years > ago when I first started getting into herbs, I learned how to make strong > extracts, and made one with Mullein. I knew Mullein was great for respiratory > problems but had never put to the true life and death test. Well, one day I > was taking a hornet nest out of the kitchen exhaust fan pipe from inside the > kitchen. And one hornet stung me three times, one on my throat, by rubbing > the burning on my neck, I knocked the hornet inside my shirt where it went on > to sting me two more times. Well, I knew what my time frame was to get to the > hospital, and I was swelling fast. So I decide to try the Mullein, I knew I > could always call EMS if it didn't work. Plantain to help with the swelling. > Ever since then I carry a bottle of homemade Mullein extract in the truck, in > the Medical Box, and there's always one handy at the house. Glad you found something that works. I do believe in the power of Oregano oil for many things .. and have a kit bag full of properly conducted scientific tests that support this .. but if I had to depend on paying Cass Igram's prices, I'd not use it. His oils are from Turkey .. his site is http://www.DrOregano.com His .45 fl oz oregano bottle ($29.95) is at this URL http://www.smartcart.com/droregano/index.cgi?item_num=3582400001 Considering that he's using like 5% or less oregano oil, figure the above price X TWENTY and you get the real price of a half ounce - like, its $599 .. ;-P Igram doesn't use the word Essential Oils or Hydrosols .. he uses Oil of this and that and Juice of this and that. All of his stuff is at http://www.droregano.com/herbalremframe.html His so-called Juice of Rose Petals is Rose Hydrosol and it is priced at $16.99 for 12 ounces .. that's $1.24 an ounce. As a doctor, he is authorized to write: " ESSENCE OF ROSE HAS PROVEN EFFECTIVE IN HELPING WITH DIGESTIVE PROBLEMS, CIRCULATORY DISORDERS, EYE DISORDERS, SKIN PROBLEMS, RESPIRATORY PROBLEMS LIKE ASTHMA AND BRONCHITIS, MENSTRAL CRAMPING AND HEAVY BLEEDING, AS WELL AS ANXIETY AND PANIC ATTACKS. " I can't write that .. ;-P His prices are unbelievable .. but he is a doctor and can say all the right words .. ;-) That oughta alert us to the fact that there is a damn conspiracy in the USA .. folks in the AMA and FDA gotta be sleeping together .. ;-( > Mullein works on all insect bites and stings, including scorpions and spiders > > Many people use Vodka for their extracts, I use Everclear. Rick My thinking is, if I'm all alone, way out in the middle of nowhere, I get bit, the pick up won't crank, don't got no oregano and I'm pretty sure I'm going under snakes ... it would be real nice to have a bottle of vodka or bourbon handy. Y'all keep smiling, Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
