I use to have to rush to a hospital every time I got stung. About 18 years

ago when I first started getting into herbs, I learned how to make strong

extracts, and made one with Mullein. I knew Mullein was great for respiratory

problems but had never put to the true life and death test. Well, one day I

was taking a hornet nest out of the kitchen exhaust fan pipe from inside the

kitchen. And one hornet stung me three times, one on my throat, by rubbing

the burning on my neck, I knocked the hornet inside my shirt where it went on

to sting me two more times. Well, I knew what my time frame was to get to the

hospital, and I was swelling fast. So I decide to try the Mullein, I knew I

could always call EMS if it didn't work. Plantain to help with the swelling.

Ever since then I carry a bottle of homemade Mullein extract in the truck, in

the Medical Box, and there's always one handy at the house.

Mullein works on all insect bites and stings, including scorpions and spiders

Many people use Vodka for their extracts, I use Everclear.

Rick, thanks for the info. I am highly allergic to wasp venom. Only been hit

once, but that was enough for me! by the time the wasp hit me on the elbow

and i got to my next door neighbors house for a bit of tobacco to put on it,

my hand and arm to my shoulder was swolen to a strut. The wet tobacco didn't

even phase it! Luckily, an Asian friend of mine ran and got a little bottle

of green liquid she had and by the time she had completely covered my hand

and arm the pain had subsided and you could , literally, see the swelling

going down. Deonia

Hi Rick, All :)

Thanks for this info, Rick .. amazingly enough with all the gardening I

do I've never been stung by a bee so I have no idea whether or not I'm

allergic. I'll keep this application in mind for my mullein!

Chris,

This has been a bad year for scorpions in the house, off hand I think we've

killed 13

inside and another 6 outside. I've been stung twice in the last two months.

The Mullein works great for that too. Rick

Janine,

We live south of San Antonio, TX. on 5 acre's of Live Oak's, Hackberry's,

Mesquite's

and about 5 different kinds of cactus. Sand-burs and sand, No dirt.

Scropions, Hornets, Fire-ants, Red Harvest-ants, Road Runners and Cotton tail

rabbits. Got rid of the goats last year, so now all we have left is just two

old cats. We don't really care for the sand, because not much will grow in

it, but you can't beat it for digging holes. Rick

I used to move the scorpions outside- FAR from the house....had to catch

them in a jar first- yikes!

Id kill the black widows, though- and the brown recluses- but not the other

spiders.

Activated charcoal is good to have around for bites...

Michelle,

How would you use the activated charcoal in this case? Take it

internally as soon as you were bitten?

I don't know why, but I had forgot to mention these two: black widows, and

the brown recluses. I got nailed by a brown recluses a few years ago on my

hand while I was sleeping at night. I'll never forget the pain and how the

center of the bite turned black as it kills the tissue. I used the Mullein

extract for it. I got bit by something last year (again at night) and wrote

up with my right leg totally swollen, the bite was at the knee. To this day,

I still have a problem with the fluid in that knee. But, again it was the

Mullein that took most of the swelling down. The last Black widow I killed

was as big as the new gold dollar.

A question to the group, which Hornet spray do you like best and find most

effective

at close range? I found something a few years ago with a 100% drop rate, and

No fly away. Rick

Hello=

I know the topic had been about helping the bites, but does anyone know

of a natural way to keep spiders down-or out-of a car or a room, etc? I

am a major aracnaphobic and almost got into an accident because of A

spider in my car.......thank you for any help

Blessings
