OT: I'm Still Above Snakes

Hi y'all,

 

I been kinda quiet ... which doesn't bother folks all that much ... ;-p

but I figgered I oughta come on line and let y'all know I ain't under

snakes yet. I have not been paying attention to any mail that did not

say Anatolian Treasures Order or Order From Shopping Cart .. I just had

my nose down to the grindstone cause I am all of a sudden overwhelmed

with more business than I have seen since I opened the company. Gotta

hire another person back in Maryland now cause I've done all I can in

115-120 hours a week.

 

Lemme share something that makes me feel good .. every year. We've had

dreary and cold weather here in Ankara for the last couple'a weeks ..

and my Rosa damascena (Damask Roses) were just sitting there and looking

at me - not doing a heckuva lot besides sprouting a lotta new greenery.

 

Well .. in the last few days, they started smiling .. :-) Got dozens of

dozens of buds and some gave popped open into purty little rose blossoms

and the odor is all around us now .. :-)

 

If the weather stays like this, the annual Rose Harvest and distillation

will kick off early this year .. maybe as early as 15 May. Just thought

I'd share a happy moment .. my Rose bushes are my buddies.

 

I'm gonna goof off this weekend .. :-) I'm heading up to the Black Sea

port city of Samsun .. been invited by my old buddy, Chief of Police ..

Tekin Akin. Gonna eat lots'a fish .. fresh off the boats, drink lotsa

Raki (aromatherapy unto itself as it is co-distilled grapes and anise

seed) and relax. Likely gain a kilo eating the famous Black Sea Helva,

which is finer'n frog hair split three ways. Called Tekin today and

told him to line me up a decent hotel. He said no way in hell .. gonna

stay in the National Police VIP Guest House .. and I'll bet there will

be some other nice things go down. I can't lie and say I don't like

that kinda stuff from time to time .. ;-P

 

Gonna take my Lap Top (I hate those things) and forward orders received

to my folks in MD - but I am not gonna answer any email from Saturday

morning till around Wednesday noon.
