Hi all,

And thanks for all the great information that you all share on

medicinal plants and herbs in the egroup.

My name is Dayna Schueth and I've just come back from an

amazing 6 months in Brazil.

While there, I came in contact with Vera Froes, an expert in

Amazonian Culture and Medicinal plants.

Vera is organizing a workshop in Brazil in the last ten days

of July and I'd like to share the info about it with everyone

in the group because I thought you all would be interested.

This is going to be an amazing experience for everyone involved.

Vera is someone very special. Not only is she a powerful healer

through the plants she uses, she is also involved with shamanic

healing traditions of Brazil.

The workshop will be held at an unbelievably nice pousada

(Brazilian style retreat center) - you can check it out at

www.vrajabhumi.com.br - the site is in Portuguese but you can

get a really good idea of what it's like.

Four courses will be taught with an optional phytocosmetics

course in the end. Expect to learn not only about medicinal

plants, but also about yourself.

Vera is also a spiritual guide of shamanic traditions and the

lush forest and waterfalls provide a great opportunity for

spiritual exploration. Two optional spiritual ceremonies using

plant teachers will be held at Vera's place during the 10 days

and all participants are not only welcome but also encouraged

to participate.

Upon completion of the workshop, participants will receive a

certificate from Vera's organization - The Institute for

Amazonian Cultural Studies. (www.iecam.org.br).

The workshop will cover the following topics:

Medicinal Plant Basics

Recognition of medicinal species

History of Phytotherapy

If anyone is interested in finding out more information,

please don't hesitate to contact me or Marcio - he's a

Brazilian who is also helping Vera organize the

workshop - at (303) 554 1361 or through email at herbsbrazil.
