Guest guest
Hi y'all, Last night I was pigging out (literally) on some Hot Wings and one of them had two bones where I thought there was one - which I shoulda known could be but I was a bit careless. Anyway, I made good connection with a bone and saw stars .. darn near took me off the chair. Wasn't but a minute or two afore it was obvious I had broken a tooth cause it moved around too freely and when I touched it pain shot through me .. and I suspected it had broke down below the gum. My head was feeling like it was in a vise last night and today .. no way to sleep as there was pain behind the eyes .. in the shoulders .. and anywhere else it decided it wanted to go. Went to a dentist today and he confirmed my guess .. tooth broke below the gum and its a 100% goner fer'shur. I wanted him to pull it out NOW but he wouldn't cause he said there was too much inflammation - and he tried to gimme a prescription for antibiotics .. those who know me know what I told him. ;-p Then he said he wanted to do a canalization to relieve the pain and remove some of the infection .. but I didn't want that cause I think its sorta useless .. I can rinse with warm salty water and stop some of the pain .. and if the salt water doesn't work, I'll just chug maybe 3 large Efes Beers and hit the rack a minute or two after it hits me. So I'm taking Oregano EO now .. took a couple of drops in a large tablespoon of X-Virgin Olive Oil around 1600. I'll take it again afore I sleep and again if I wake up with pain .. then again in the morning. My head is still in the vise and I have a bit of fever .. but I know it'll pass. Pain doesn't bother me too much unless I dwell on it ... and though it does hurt, its not being able eat properly that really bothers me - and naturally, when you have a problem like this, the tongue always finds it and investigates .. making it a bit more sensitive. The Doc thinks I'm nuts for not taking the synthetic antibiotics .. and I think he's too conventional for recommending them. We'll see who was right and I promise to tell it like it is. Doc says he'll pull it on Wednesday. I might pull it afore then .. ;-p We all know that crap happens in life and I've learned that if I'm in good enough shape to bitch about it, it could have been worse. Anyway .. I'll let y'all know how the Oregano EO works .. dentist is one I've known for a while and he bet me a fish dinner I'd be back to see him tomorrow. He doesn't realize that the bet was a sure-fire way to ensure I won't go back tomorrow .. ;-p Y'all keep smiling, Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
Guest guest
Hi I am new to the group but I do know that if you don't take the antibiotics they don't like to pull the tooth because the infection can cause more damage to your mouth thus more dental work. Bright Blessings to you and I hope all goes well. Guest guest
Hi Andrea It is great to have you here! :) Actually, Butch DID take an " antibiotic " .. just it was a natural antibiotic, not one of the synthetic antibiotics which have all the negative side affects associated with them ... But I'll let him get a little more into it about that one as he is The Oregano Man! *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com Andrea wrote: > Hi I am new to the group but I do know that if you don't take the > antibiotics they don't like to pull the tooth because the infection can > cause more damage to your mouth thus more dental work. There are plenty of ways to avoid the use of synthetic antibiotics- oregano being an excellent choice... Guest guest
Putting in my two cents worth - I managed to keep the pain of badly absessed teeth (I had 2 of them go on me at the same time) using the linalool oregano - a drop on the offending teeth and another couple of drops used to stroke downwards over the jaw/neck lymph nodes around the infection site. The linalool in the oregano counteracts the irritant of the carvacrol and makes it ok (for me, anyway !) to use this way. It's the only oregano I use *on* me rather than *in* me. I also found my 3% Rose helped ease the pain - again, a drop around the tooth & gum. My dentist was very interested when he realised how long I'd been managing the pain before I could afford to have the teeth removed - and supportive of me using EOs to control the pain and the infection. One other thing that really amazed me was using just a few drops of neroli hydrosol in a bit of water - I went for this instinctively one day when the pain was really getting beyond my ability to cope - as soon as the neroli hit the tooth the pain just disappeared - worked just like Rescue Remedy ! The pain slowly came back over the next half an hour, but nowhere near as bad as it was. Hope you have some relief soon, Butch ! Blessings, Jane :-)) Chris Ziegler wrote: >Hi Andrea > >It is great to have you here! :) > >Actually, Butch DID take an " antibiotic " .. just it was a natural >antibiotic, not one of the synthetic antibiotics which have all the >negative side affects associated with them ... > >But I'll let him get a little more into it about that one as he is The >Oregano Man! > >*Smile* >Chris (list mom) > >http://www.alittleolfactory.com > >Andrea wrote: > >>Hi I am new to the group but I do know that if you don't take the >>antibiotics they don't like to pull the tooth because the infection can >>cause more damage to your mouth thus more dental work.
