My stepmothers infamous remark to me was when I was around 8 or 9 & I'm over 50 now: " What did you bring her for? She's so ugly, hide her behind you so nobody will know she belongs to us " This was said to my dad when he brought us kids up to her work for a tour. There have been other " terms of endearment " but this one has stuck with me & I will never forget it, I try not to think that I am ugly but sometimes that remark will pop in the brain. Humans just don't know how much they can hurt one another & how some things hurt to the soul. Kathleen, just know that you are a beautiful person, you must be talented - everyone on the list is (except I'm just lurking & learning).
