Hi y'all,

The next day following the post I just sent to y'all .. someone said

they heard a feller on the radio talking about oregano - and I wrote:

-----------

The feller you're referring to is medical Dr. Cass Igram, of North

American Herb & Spice, Buffalo Grove, IL. He's advertising his Oil of

Oregano and Super Strength Oil of Oregano. Also has Oregamax, a

combination of crushed origanum vulgare, Rhus cariaria (mountain sumac),

garlic and onion - he says take two capsules a day or just empty the

capsules right on your food. He also has oregano juice (a hydrolat but

it doesn't say so as the public would become confused) which he says is

rich in highly oxygenated compounds from high mountain oxygen, the

healthiest kind! He says it's far superior to synthetically added ozone

or 02 - didn't you know that? I didn't!!!!!!!!

North American Herb and Spice has a couple of sister companies, " The

American Institute of Curative Medicine, Perigrine Marketing Company and

the Freedom House Publishing Company " , which publishes his books and

brochures, one of which is, " The Cure is in the Cupboard. "

He also sells Oil of Rosemary; Hercules Strength Capsules (crushed

rosemary, oregano and sage), Oil of Sage; Nutri-Sense Capsules contain

stabilized rice bran, rice polishings, fortified flax, lecithin, and

sour grape powder; Royal Kick Capsules contain royal jelly fortified

with pantothenic acid and acerola cherries; Red Sour Grape Capsules the

skin, vine and leaf; Wild Power Tea contains wild strawberry leaves,

wild borage an d hibiscus flowers; Oil of Myrtle; Oil of Fennel; Oil of

Cumin, and finally, HerbSorb which contains crushed fenugreek seeds,

cumin, coriander, black caraway and cardamom.

This fellow used to be a big oregano and rosemary oil customer of mine

back in 1997 - bought thousands of kilograms and it was all good oil,

but today, as a result of a major dispute over our contract, I guess we

wouldn't pee on each other if the other was on fire. Aside from that,

and above and beyond the emotional issues of my strong dislike for him

personally, I'll say that I'm convinced beyond a doubt that he's telling

the truth about the therapeutic value of the oregano and rosemary oils,

and I'm saying this based on a lot of personal experience and experience

in observing many others who think as I do. I personally believe that

the internal use of the essential oils of origanum vulgare, origanum

marjorana and rosemarinus officinalis are the best thing that's happened

to me as far as preventive and curative medication.

If this comes across as an advertisement for Cass Igram's products,

please let me know so I can wash my mouth out with dishwater.

Now, the fact that he gives no safety warnings on any of his products is

his problem - or is it? First, he's a trained medical doctor so he's

not without knowledge of the dangers if there are dangers and secondly,

if we were to analyze the products, we might find that the percentage of

carrier oils he uses (mostly extra virgin olive) are so high that you

could drink the whole bottle without ill effect. Maybe not - a guess.

I'm reading his brochure now (sent by a friend 'cause me asking for one

would be like me asking Gary Young for a listing of YL products) and I

don't see the term " essential oils " at all - no where in the brochure.

I posted a couple of days ago about who was making the big bucks in

alternative medicine - it's those golkd who have a medical doctor

certificate.

Ya'll keep smilin' now - ya heah?
