Guest guest
Have I got a good question today! ; - ) I am comparing diferent tea tree oils, and I have always understood the Australian variety to be of higher quality, and the prices certainly tell me that. What I am wondering is -- what is a cineole and why do I want less of it in the tea tree oil? The Australian I am looking at has 3.7% cineole, and the Chinese has 15%. Thanks, Debbie deb http://www.bodyhealthcenter.com

I've only seen Chinese Eucalyptus, white Camphor, Cassia, Cedarwood, Geranium and May Chang. Learned a new one today. Tea Tree EO is categorized as a monoterpine, and usually made up mostly of Terpinene-4-ol (up to 50% even), then cineol, and then a bunch of other happy phytochemicals The Australian Gov't also has a standard chemical profile for Tea Tree Essential Oil that they are sticklers about ..... > The Australian I am looking at has 3.7% cineole, > and the Chinese has 15%. I've never seen or heard of Chinese Tea Tree Oil, and JUST for that fact alone if it were me purchasing at this the moment -I'd do more research into " New Nations Producing Tea Tree " and for the moment (at least) stick to the guys I know that have it mastered ... my buddies down under in Oz > > Thanks, > Debbie > deb > http://www.bodyhealthcenter.com I hope that helped *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com
Guest guest
Thanks so much for this, Chris -- I thought the Aussie sounded like a better choice, as well! So the company must list the cineole amounts b/c of the Aussie standards?
