Guest guest
Hello everyone, Some of you might have noticed that I've been gone. My husband decided to be nice to me and drive us to Vegas so I could see a friend of mine, that I haven't seen in a couple of years. PLEASE, don't let him decide to be nice to me ever again. We were supposed to leave Monday, to take the trip in two days to get there (it's a 10.5 hour drive with 4 kids >shudder<) Sunday Night, my eldest starts throwing up! By noon the next day, she was no longer throwing up, but had a fever. By the next morning she was feeling fine and so we decided to go ahead and go. So this is Tuesday, by the time the evening comes, I'm feeling scratchy in the throat, and my head feels " funky " Wednesday Morning, I feel HORRIBLE. Like my head has swollen out like the cap on a mushroom and it's folded down over the top of my forhead. My throat is scratchy and I'm talking in a rough bass tone. We went to Hoover Dam. Just the place for an Acrophobic to be! Thursday dawns all bright and sunny and my little girl starts throwing up! So the husband takes the other two out to breakfast while I stay in the hotel with a throwing up little girl, packing up (as we are moving to another hotel today), and trying to keep the baby away from everyone. Husband comes home. Felix threw up in McDonalds (I can't think of a better place,) and in the Grocery store. So. We now have TWO kids throwing up. I'm feeling like I've been on a 6 week drunk and the throat is not improved. Check out time is 11 am, check IN time at the other place is 3 pm. Well, I call the other two places and one lets us stay until one, and the other has agreed to let us in early. PERFECT! So we get into hotel number 2 and the girl promptly throws up on the quilt and the boy hits the carpet. >sigh< So husband take's the eldest out and I stay back with two throwing up children and keeping the baby in another room in a vain attempt to keep him healthy. Thursday evening. I tell husband to go on out and do all the things he wants, as I'm staying in to look after kids. Oh! Eldest now has hacking cough. So. Husband leaves, but before he shuts the door on the way out, he say's his stomach is feeling a little queasy. (can you see what's coming?) Sure enough, Later that evening after he's come home, he's tossing cookies to the porcelain God. >sigh< In the mean time, My friend now has the throat thing, and her husband is throwing up. Friday dawns, the last day of our " holiday " (THANK GOD!), husband is feeling wimpy, kids are feeing rather cheerful and Hunny Bunny is feeling 'warm'. We go to the indoor adventure park, so the kids can do what they have been dying to do. Husband is walking around looking like a misery infested question mark. In other words, shoulders are hunched and round down to his knees. He's cold and tired. GREAT! We leave early to go back to the hotel, so husband can rest. On the way home, we buy some nappies, and a thermometer. Hunny Bunny has a temp of 100.4, at least that was what it was when I pulled out from his arm pit. Drugs and panick time. Oh! Husband has a fever of 100.3. After drugs and an hour, Hunny Bunny (the baby for those of you NOT in the know) is feeling cooler and sleeping, husband is zonked out on the bed, kids are watching telly. Quiet for a while. We go out to dinner, restaraunt has no bathrooms, as they are backed up...daughter says " I feel sick " . LORD!!! We rush outside, she pukes in front of the restraunt (great advertising I tell her), we go back in, Gordon takes them all except for the baby, back to the hotel. Little puking one ate nothing (big surprise) of what was ordered for her, eldest ate two bites and son ate half. Later that evening, I go to meet my friend for the last time. Nervous about leavng hunny bunny, but G. say's he'll call if anything goes wrong. After a few hours with my friend, as I'm saying goodbye, phone rings. Hunny Bunny is awake and crying. Speeding back to the hotel with visions of horror dancing in my head, wallowing in massive guilt, I find the baby sleeping. Eldest however, had thrown Up while I was away. >sigh< Morning comes. 5:30 to be exact. I get up, I pack up and I get the show on the road. Had enough fun holiday. 10.5 hours we reach home, with only one incidence of throwing up on the way home. I don't EVER want to go on 'holiday' ever AGAIN! Cheers! Guest guest
Hello, So how was the Hoover Dam????? Kidding:) poor thing, see MY kids always get sick BEFORE the trip, thus I have no life- make dinner reservations and sure enough someones vomiting- GUILT! So My husband and I decided that all vacations will be reserved for when the kids are out of the house, so were figuring on about a 3year cruise in 8 years, give or take seeing how my 13 year olds attitude holds up. Hope you all are feeling better,if your husband REALLY wants to be nice I am sure there is laundry right? Guest guest
>I don't EVER want to go on 'holiday' ever AGAIN! Kathleen- I am so sorry you had this experience. I can relate I took 6 children under the age of 12 to Mexico one summer. Poor planning. You do want to go on holiday again, just be sure it is your holiday and leave hubby home with the children & an qualified nurse. You will have a better time, and they will be portected. ¸..·´¨¨)) -:¦:- ¸.·´ .·´¨¨)) ((¸¸.·´ ...´ -:¦:- Janet -:¦:- -:¦:- ((¸¸.·´*
