Guest guest
I am wondering what I should put in a creme to help eczema? I have this on my hands from constant handwashing and just a normal creme/lotion isn't helping much. Is there an EO or something I can use or mix with a basic cocoabutter etc creme to help? TIA Michele
Guest guest
Hi Michele, I make a cream and use an herbal infusion both in oil and water. I use chickweed, plantain, comfrey root & calendula. I added avacado oil, rose hip seed oil and a healthy portion of shea butter. Then add some roman chamomile and lavender. Very soothing. Good luck! Then , if left unattended, does it make a postule and, if still nothing is done, makes a sore? I know this sounds stupid but there is a method to my madness. I have been to five (5) of what has been said are the best dermatologists in Fl. All of them could tell me what it wasn't, but, no one could tell me what it was. If your's is something like this, i'll tell you what I think and/know. Deonia

Make yourself a really good skin cream with Jojoba, Emu, Rose Hip seed oil, Neem and Rose, tea tree, and rosewood EO's. And if you can, it's not really imperitive, use rose , or tea tree hydrosol for the liquid portion. HTH's, Deonia PS. The clue is to use it every time you wash your hands. I use it every time I think of it. D
Guest guest
Hi Deonia Actually, this is a rash from the tape they used with my IV from having Jordan. Once the tape reaction rash went away, my skin got really dry, flaky, and my skin cracks. Constant washing aggravates it. It doesn't sound like what you describe. Hope you find some answers soon. Guest guest
Geez Dee, The beginning of that description sounds kind of fungal in nature ..... have you tried using a lotion or cream made with oregano hydrosol for that? I would ... *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com BubblesWithStyle wrote: > it start out as a little water > blister that itches terribly, then in and when you scratch it, does it > spread > even though you don't break the blister? Once the tape reaction rash went away, my skin got really dry, > flaky, and my skin cracks. Constant washing aggravates it. Hi Michele, I had this problem with my hands after my son was born. It was February and I thought it was because of constant washing and the cold weather. It was very dry and cracked to the point of bleeding mostly over my knuckles. This started two years ago and gets worse in the winter and was never really going away totally. For the past month or so I have been making my own soap and using it instead of the Softsoap that I have always used. Just last week I realized that my skin was no longer cracked and was actually smooth. I really can't believe I hadn't thought of the soap being the problem because I have always had sensitivities to some soaps. Palmolive actually makes chunks of my skin come off. My grandmother finally believes I'm allergic to it after 15 years of thinking I just didn't want to wash the dishes! One more thing, I don't ever remember to put lotion on after I washing which makes it worse. At night I have been using an oil blend of calendula infused evoo and jojoba with lavender and helichrysum. Super moisturizing and helps put me to sleep too. Sorry for the length, HTH Dawn
Guest guest
" Actually, this is a rash from the tape they used with my IV from having Jordan. Michele " That is an allergic reaction, not eczema. Eczema comes from inside and appears on elbows, the groin area, behind the knees, and on ankles. I have seen the IV tape bother a lot of people. You should use some sort of cream or water made from rose petals. Add tea tree if you have cracks. And calendula will help with the flakiness. Then after washing, you need to seal your hands with a salve not a cream, something with beeswax in it. You would be good adding comfrey (leaf and root) and red clover to the salve. You might also try to wash dishes with citrus eos in the water and not much if any soap. The eczema cream I make has herbal ingredients of calendula, red clover, comfrey, comfrey root and Balm of Gilead. I add cocoa, shea, and mango butter and coconut oil. It is a heavy duty moisturizing cream also, but treats eczema out breaks specifically (my father has eczema, but he also has athletes foot, so it is rather complicated). Guest guest
Hey Michele, well the only thing that works here is emu oil! And using salt scrub with lavender and tea tree to wash my hands with instead of soap (i scrub gently lol no making your hands raw! We all have different versions of eczema LOL With Spencer all i had to do is switch laundry detergents.. with tanner we use a homemade ointment for behing the knees where he gets it. And nate is lucky so far and does not have any well yet lol. I do like shea butter but it does not seam to help once i have an outbreak. I actually love soiaking my hands in olive oil too to help heal feels super! hugs Sarah >Michele at Home <mbrantner > > >Re: eczema help needed >Fri, 15 Feb 2002 09:23:36 -0800 > >Hi Chris, >It is only on my hands & seems to be from extremely dry skin. but even my >shea butter creme isn't solving the problem like it usually does.
