Hi Emryldgea :) All,

There is no such thing as Vanilla " EO " .. there are such things as

Vanilla Absolute, Vanilla Oleoresin, and Vanilla CO2, but not a steam

distilled Vanilla Essential Oil. Also, all of the above mentioned

products are VERY costly ....

Hi Chris, Emryldgea, all......

I have the first two, and Chris is right. They are very costly. Even the

vanilla beans themselves have risen in cost substantially this past year. :(

Wow, that's a lot for an ounce of vanilla absolute! I still sell my

beans for $12.00/ounce. And I can't keep the things in stock. They sell

like crazy. But of course, that is just the beans. I wonder what you

need a vanilla eo for?? Or maybe she was talking about a different

vanilla solution.

Hi Sose,

I use vanilla eo in many of my perfumery or hair oils blends, usually along

with patchouli and a few other things.. like the scent. :) The beans have

recently (for me anyways) gone up like crazy........as has the vanilla. She

probably was talking about the eo.. I use it all the time.. scent being such

a personal thing and liking.. hugs and take care,

Marilyn :)

Yep .. for any decent Vanilla Bean (Vanilla planifolia) Absolute you

gotta pay somewhere in the neighborhood of $120 - $130 an ounce. Its

cheaper if you buy in volume .. which wholesalers have to do in order to

stay in the market range for sales, but since it sells slower than

pouring molasses in Montana in January, its not a real good investment

for wholesalers .. they gotta sit on their money too long. :-( Butch
