Guest guest
Hi all, My name is Carol and due to time constraints I seldom post (just read a lot) on some really great lists. I'm hoping someone might have some suggestions on what I can do with a lot of Lavender cuttings. I trimmed back my plants a lot!! Can I infuse the stems and leaves in oil? If so, should it be dried first? Any other ideas? Thanks for any info you can send my way. Carol
Guest guest
You must live in California! I remember cutting back Lavender in the winter... Now I am in Vermont, where the Elm tree outside is bear as can be and the garder is buried under snow! I would dry it before infusing it...but use it right away! Lavender is also lovely in tea...has many uses this way. Have a dandy day... wow Im exclamating. Guest guest
Hiya Michelle, Carol... Michelle, I read the other post perfectly, the garder looked like garden to me! ROFL It was this one that I stopped and said HUH over! I'm not in CA, you know I'm in Florida, can I even grow lavender here, d'you think? I've heard so many no's.........from those who've tried, and it's already getting up to the 80's again here - was it like that (either you or Carol) where you were/are? I love lavender though............ When I trimmed my lavender, I took all the cuttings (except the real woody ones) and ran them through my food processor. I would then lay them out in a box or ??? and dry them. I have infused them into oils for my balms, and soap, as potpourri and in sachets. I still have a big box full of the ones I did last fall before we moved. I don't think the cuttings have as much healing value as the fresh buds do, but I'm sure they have to have something in them. Besides, I love the smell of the cuttings and could never let them go to waste. HTH, Carol Walsh (in beautiful Idaho at 9 degrees right now and getting lower) May today there be peace within you. May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.

Guest guest
Sure thing, Janet, I have to find the magazine and then see if i can scan the entire article and maybe just post it? You think? It had some great illustrative pictures in it..... Guest guest
You are a sweetie! I just finished lotion bars, lots and lots of lotion bars, lavender, rose and a nice spicy one similar to Canoe. Of course I have some of each tested on this hand, that forearm, this upper arm. Some for extremely dry skin, some for normal skin. Fun, Fun... Janet >Sure thing, Janet, I have to find the magazine and then see if i can scan >the entire article and maybe just post it? You think?
