Guest guest
Shivani, I just heat the shea, put some in my hair, (how much oh, a handful or two, but I have small child like hands, comb it through, with a wide tooth comb, pull it up on top my head, saran warp my head like turban, do stuff I need to do and then shampoo 2 times, with whatever shampoo I happen to like at the time. I don't use a separate conditioner at this time. I have not had my hair cut or trimmed in 18 months and don't have any split ends. I do know people you rub some into there hands and then sorta sheen their hair. I never do it that way but... whatever works is good. No one told me a method, I just needed a hot oil treatment a few years back and thought I would try it. Later I read that in Africa women use it on there hair but the article did not tell how. Janet > Boy, there is no end to the good information here. Shea for hair! How >do you do it, Janet? Do you put it on and wash it out, or just put on a bit >and leave it? > I tried rubbing a dab on my palms and then rubbing that onto my hair > just >to see what it did. Sort of expected it to be too heavy, but it wasn't. >Whadda ya know! > Thanks to everyone who shared their knowledge about shea. > Shivani > Shivani > >
Guest guest
" Later I read that in Africa women use it on there hair but the article did not tell how. Janet " In Africa it is rubbed into the hair and left to set for several days. It helps tame the hair and makes it easier to style and braid. You can find it on the shelf already to go for black hair. It is usually called Karite butter. I put in my hair like gel when I braid my hair. I have baby fine hair and tons of it. It keeps my braids secure and no loose ends peaking out. Also, when I use the shea, I don't need to secure the ends of my braids. I just rub a little extra on the end of each braid and then slide my bead over it.
