how about adding lavender and rosemary to the hot oil treatment? I add that to

my conditioner. It sure makes my hair shiny.

My personal favorite is a bit expensive, I only do it once a month...

Jojoba, sandalwood and rose!

I liked the hot oil treatment of warming a little hot olive oil and water up

once a week for split ends.

The other day I tried to do an avocado moisturizing mask for 5 minutes I

wasnt as impressed as I thought I would be. It was difficult to wash out and

eventually had to shampoo it out.

I love chamomile in my shampoo and am planning to make a chamomile shampoo

with castile soap flakes, rosemary and lavendar oil.

I cant wait to make a perfume hair oil.

Rinsing with AVC is great but smells.

A spray bottle with water, honey, and lemon is GREAT for a hair spray, gel

set.

Erin, I make a Olive , Castor , and Coconut Oil liquid shampoo and dilute it

with an infusion of Chamomile, Rosemary water. It ruins the color and

clarity of the shampoo but it's great for the hair. I really like it. Deonia

What is the exact recipe and is it good for all hair types? How long does it

keep? Thaks

So far it's done well on mine and a few friends I have given it to. I have

Oily hair, so I also add Sage to my infusion along with the Cham and Lav, two

of my friends hair is grey, one prematurely, and the other by natural aging

and both of their's is extreamly dry. I just gave it to them for Christmas so

i'm working with the feed back from them.

The one with naturally greying hair likes it as is.

But the one with the prematurely grey hair needs something more moisturizing

for hers. So I took her some of my Macadamia Nut shampoo ( which is great for

my African-American friends hair) which leaves mine so oily I can't use it,

to try . She's going to mix it half and half and see what happens. Still

waiting for feedback on that experiment.

I also gave some to another friend who uses it on her little girl. Although I

had to scent it with Angel's Kiss FO for her so she could smell nice . LOL

The recipes are from Failor's book, making natural LIQUID SOAPS. The one I

use for Caucasion hair is the Marvelous Moisturizing Shampoo on page 63 with

a couple of changes.

1. I used Olive as my soft oil of choice.

2 And ,because I am not crazy about Lanolin, I omitted it. and added 2 more

ounces of Olive Oil.

3. because I didn't lessen the ammount of lye I used, the paste ( and I

always use the paste method) was extreamly thick. I wound up adding about 10

ounces of 91% alcohol to thin it down and cooked it an hour longer than

called for. The resulting shampoo was quite thick with a great lather.

4. for the infused water I diluted it with, I made a tea using 1 cup each of

Chamomile & Lavender and 64 ounces of just under boiled water. I let it sit

all night long and diluted the paste with it the next day. It turned a funny

green color, but since I make shampoo for the effect and not the color , I

didn't care. I did, however, add some Pearl mica called Cloud White to it.

that I bought from Soapberry Lane.

I think I'm going to try the Revitalizing Rosin Shampoo recipe on that same

page next for the cold cream finish it says it adds to this shampoo. Using

Olive as my soft oil of choice or maybe Kukui Nut. Hope this helps you and

if you need any more info, don't hesitate to ask. Your friend and His, Deonia

BTW Erin, it has never spoiled yet and the Mac Nut oil shampoo was made over

a year ago. Deonia
