Guest guest
My 3 year old male dog (10lbs poodle) has become aggitated because of a puppy we got in Sept. (another male). He is a very sweet dog and is not aggresive towards the puppy, kind of skittish and afraid- they have had almost 6 months together and he is still not coming around, which is a surprise because he has always gotten along with every animal, the puppy is not afraid of him and I almost wish he would stand his ground and put the puppy in his place, but he isn't. I would like to try something to help him destress, I talked to my vet and she said to give it time or get him fixed- I will probably do that but my female will go into heat within the next month and they are to breed, a friend who is a dog trainer said getting him neutered may not solve the problem. He is of champion lineage so getting him fixed would be hard but I can't let him go on like this. I did one particular day brush him with some spring water and lavender oil and he seemed really mellow for a couple hours. Does anyone know of a herbal treatment I could give him- maybe valerian? Any suggestions? Thank-you Emryldgea
