Ah ! And this reminds me.....some of the essential oil blends you use for

arthritis have to get in deep to have the effect....and the infused oils of

Comfrey for sprains can't work by helping the skin ( Know infused oils are

different, just thought I would point that out )

Erin, this is true...and Ayurveda has been recommending herbal oil massage

for thousands of years...to take the herbs to the deeper tissues...

and regarding EOs, the person I was trained by (a biochemist ) certainly

believes most constituents in the oils pass through the skin...

the jury is still out on this one...and I think those of us who work with

the oils and see the results are the ones figuring it out...

(I am not a huge fan of " scientific proving " , I think a lot of times it

" proves " or " disproves " what empirical evidence has shown to be true)

OKAY slap me down!!

Hiya Michelle, Erin all..

Slap? Nope... I was trained by one of my first teachers to " believe " with your

own eyes........touch, smell, etc's.. and I'll be forever grateful to her for

that :) Some things go beyond the " Scientific Data " mainly because it hasn't

been correctly tested in almost 'any' situation to be of use to us.......while

the people who work with the oils see things daily that scientists are still

trying to disprove. Or prove.

Massage works.. other things that a Scientist would laugh at work too... and

aren't harmful to you or the person you're treating. Besides, do you really want

it proved??? NO!!!!! Then all our eo's would become RX's!!!!!!!! Ack!!!!!

<grinz> Enter the FDA.............grrrrrrrrr.... lol

Great point, in the 2 years I have been using and researching EO's I

have seen a significant overall increase in the health of my family,

my husband stress leval is down, my daughters asthma attacks are

less frequent and my son who usually has on going cold from Oct

through March has only had one this year and it was gone before I

knew it, I cannot remember the last time we had to make that trip to

the Dr. for antibiodics. Not to mention the fact that my Neurologist

is stumped by the fact that my PD is not progessing and I take the

minimal medication - Proof enough for me :)
