I am trying to recall the diagnosis category for a person that was unable to

sleep laying flat. They would wake during the night and had to sit up for

many hours until they could lay down again. Applied to the person that could

only sleep in a recliner. Any ideas?

Hi Ed!

Time of night that the pain is? Location of the pain? Tongue? Pulse?

Questions you should be routinely asking.

May be a low back disc problem

Often they cannot lie flat because it increases the pressure in the inflamed

disc

This is an example of when Acupuncture may be helpful, but manipulation is

also necessary
