My .02

I see no *hounding*of or *trying to get rid of* anyone

IMO it is essential in a forum on the healing arts to know if a bit of advice or

an opinion comes from someone who has actually studied, passed national exams,

proven their competency on at least a basic level and recieved from their peers

the appropriate credentials.

It simply allows one to know if one should try the advice on a patient or look

at it as interesting theory. It allows one to know if the opinion is informed by

a true knowledge of the field or not.

If the forum were on Neurosurgery i would like to know that the person telling

me that the proceedure was one i should try actually had credentials in medicine

with a specialty in Neurosurgery. While a former patient might have useful info

it would be nice to know which of the two the person giving me an opinion was.

I do not consider it hounding when several people ask simple questions

(Who are you?

What is your background in all of this?)

and get evasion and half truth instead of a simple direct answer.

and need to ask again

and again

I consider this dishonest

This is my problem with Rich

Simple direct questions should yield simple direct answers.

I do believe that Rich has a right to his opinions

I would simply like to know in what context to take what he says

As far as I am concerned Rich is a somewhat well informed lay person/patient

with a dabbling interest in health care and a lot of opinions- some of which i

agree with and others i consider way off.

An expert? IMHO Not by a long shot.
