(1) In the theory of Chinese Herbal Medicine, each medicinal or

formula is said to " Enter " specific Channels.

For example, Huangqi (Rx Astragali membranacei) is said to enter

LU & SP; Sharen (Fr Amomi villosi) is said to " Enter " SJM**-SP-ST

& KI

IMO, once absorbed, the active ingredients go through the whole

body, but they are said to have a preference for their specific

Channels (and therefore, their related organs).

(2) Certain medicinals are said to Protect specific organs and

boost their finctions.

For example, the following are said to be LV-Protectors:

Shuifeiji Milk Thistle; Holy Thistle; St. Marys Thistle; Blessed

Thistle (Hb/S); Hb/S Silibi / Silybi / Cardui / Cnici Benedicti/Mariani

Baijiang; Baijiangcao; Dahurian Patrinia Hb/Whiteflower Patrinia

Hb; Hb+Rx Patriniae/Thlaspi

Yinchenhao Tang (Artemisia Capillaris Soup; Kampo: Inchinko-to;

TJ-135)

To add on, one can say that a herb has preference over certain channel

(s). However, it is incorrect to say the same herb ONLY enter those

channels(s).
