Guest guest
Can anybody tell me about this virus. I have a 60 yr. old patient with it and the only research that I can find is on newborns. Thanks, Mary
Guest guest
Group B strep is not a virus but a bacteria, and is usually found in the immunocompromised, putting it into the " opportunistic pathogen " category. I have found it not infrequently in stool samples of patients. Usually I have the lab test it for sensitivities to direct my herbal therapy. If located in the gut, I usually rehabilitate the intestines after going after the pathogen, as well as doing whatever clinically indicated to improve immune system response. In a 60-year-old, I certainly wouldn't overlook the possibility of decreased HCl output. Avery L.
