Cholestrol, an antioxidant

I've been reading about some of the benefits of good cholestrols

like those found in whole butter. They free the body of free radicals

and coat the digestive system. I guess the short and medium length

cholestrol chains are good for the body where the very long chains

are harmful. Like those found in meats as well as the uric acid and

toxins in meat. I'm not trying to convert anyone to vegetarianism but

I personally think it's a good idea.

Hi Bill,

Don't hold back.

Step off the deep end.

<http://www.thincs.org/> and scroll down to the article by Uffe

Ravnskov.

This is not an article I will be sharing with my Western A & P

professor.

While we're at it, would anyone care to compare cholesterol, a

building block of steroid hormones, with something, anything, of Asian

medical theory?

Actually, the idea that any cholesterol is bad for you is a myth, and

certainly not borne out by the research. Low cholesterol diets have no

effect on atherosclerosis or incidence of heart disease.

It is a useful myth for the manufacturers of statin drugs, however.

There is a correlation of foods with cholesterol and blood building

foods in TCM. liver, salmon, red meat (talk about steriod hormones!),

Here are a few web sites regarding cholesterol and various studies that are

pretty enlightening.
