Ghost Point Treatment

Hi All,

Awhile back someone posted the " Ghost Point Treatment " , and I had a

few questions about it---and also am curious if this is the protocol

that others use because I have one that uses a few different points.

Here is the protocol that was given:

Sun Si-Miao's 13 ghost points

Males- initiatte on left

Females initiate on right

Gv 26 .3-.5 cun

LU 11 .3 cun

Sp 1 .2 cun

PC 7 .5 cun

BL 62 warm needle insert and withdraw quickly 3-7x

GV 16 1 cun

St 6 warm bleeding needle

Cv 24 .2-.3 cun

PC 8 .3-.5 cun

GV 23 .3-.5 cun

Cv 1 (men) moxa cauterization 3x or Yu men (women) moxa

LI 11 warm needle insert and withdraw 3-7x

Hai Quan .2-.3 cun w/ bledding needle

Here is the protocol that I have:

Du 26

Du 16

Du 23

Du 1

Jin Jin/Yu Ye

LI 11

Lu 11

Per 7

Per 8

Ren 24

Sp 1

St 6

UB 62

So here are my questions:

1. Does anyone know where Hai Quan is?

2. The first protocol calls for " warming needle insert and withdraw

3-7 x's " . My understanding of warming needle is when you burn moxa

on a needle--so I don't understand how you can insert it quickly when

you have to burn moxa on it???

3. Does anyone have experience with the second protocol and how

effective it is? I'm curious because I'd prefer to use it

(considering it doesn't have Ren 1 which is too personal for some

people).

4. When doing these Du points I'm thinking that you would want to

direct the needle backward, against the flow of the meridian in order

to reduce. Is that your experience?

5. Any experience to share on what sorts of problems this has been

effective with? The original poster said it was good for stubborn

thought processes like Obsessive Compulsive disorder and I know a few

people who would benefit from that.

Thanks for the feedback!

might be fire needle -- heated until it is red hot and quickly inserted &

withdrawn.

Hai Quan is located under the tongue at the centre of the lingual frenulum.

Yes!

" Hai " means sea, and " Quan " means spring (water coming from earth) . One of its

indications is Diabetes (for its thirst)

One way of 'warming a needle', don't forget these were the old days without

climate control, was to just warm it in your mouth to body temperature and

insert it. Not ok anymore.
